there are car specific forums already and adding some DIY's to them would be awesome... adding quality content in general to the car specific forums is highly encouraged... how great would it be to have a LOCAL technical resource put together buy guys you either know or who are within driving distance.

Sounds great...on the other boards people just make a thread with the title such as

*DIY: HID kit installation

Then if the mods think its worthy of being stickied, they do so and its there for everyone...would definately be nice feature to have

It would work on here, yea it is hard because its really not car specific but it could still help from everything from oil changes to detailing your car.

I got the idea from the other site i go to NewTiburon.com they have it listed like:
DIY: HID KIT however i do know that this is a multi car makes site so the listing would be like this:

DIY: HID Kit (03-07 Hyundai Tiburon) so then u can keep it organized.

perhaps those who make DIY threads can send them to mods who can review them and then sticky them in the section they deem proper??

Well if its car specific then its not that hard to figure out where it should go. Lets say I was doing a DIY on a downpipe install on my wrx. Obviously it would go in the "Subaru Tech" section. A detailing DIY on the other hand would get dumped in General Car Related Chat.

I dont see the need to involve the moderators in more work other than stickying the DIY.

yea do it yourself is great thing on some of the other forums im on, but dont think it requires a new section or something, like cleanNeon said just post it in the appropriate section with a DIY in the title

I think this is a great idea and would be a benefit to the forums as it would be a good reference and maybe attract more people. Stickies are always nice in a well put together forum.

We have manufacturer specific sections which are a perfect place for this... I encourage everyone to take the time and put together useful DIY threads and if you think its something that should be stickied, then contact a moderator about it. Even if you just want to take the time to gather all of the sticky-worthy threads that already exist so we can organize them, thats great too.
