Thought I might post a few updated pics in this thread instead of starting a new one. How my v40 looked when I bought it:

New wheels and repainted the grille:

Also replaced the front drivers door speakers and replaced some dash pieces that were covered with an old, chipped wood grain sticker kit with the OEM Volvo wood grain kit.

Have to replace the MAP sensor and get new coilovers for the rear because it sags way too much went it really shouldn't, also is making the front way too high. Got a new headunit, just waiting for the wiring harness to put it all together.

Looks good Frosted! i recognize that car from the Chili's meet. love the urple. new wheels look good. good call on new overs for the rears as you have some serious reverse-rake going on currently.
looking forward to seeing the progression.

Thanks man! Yup, that meet wasn't even a week after I had bought the car, planning on getting a bit of work done before the next one in April. Are you planning on going to that as well?

Put in the new headunit. I'm sure some of you will probably think an aftermarket screen/dvd player looks tacky but it was a hand-me-down from a friend and free parts are free parts, sounds way better than stock.
Map sensor should come by Friday and then it's time to look for new springs. Would ideally like to get new coils all around so I can lower the whole car but right now my main concern is just fixing that rear.

Very nice to see some other volvo owners here. I have a 97 850 GLT with 93K. For those of you who dont know, that is the LPT model. I have a ton of parts waiting to go on, most of which that will this week. I have a genuine volvo PCV kit, silicone IC hoses, Snabb inlet pipe, NA throttle body with 960 throttle plate and a 15g turbo i rebuilt to replace the smaller 15g and a 3" OBX downpipe I just bought. The car should be running only about 6psi as is. Once all the parts go on and an exhaust is welded onto the downpipe and I get 315cc injectors. I am going to get a flash tune from ARD lastly. This will up the boost to about 14-15psi. Should make a fun car, the 2.4 LPT is more torquey than the 2.3 HPT engine which is good. Then off to cosmetic parts.... I will post some more pics once I get some more work done! Thanks!

That is one clean looking 850. Really like it!

Spent my easter weekend swapping out the automatic shift knob for the wood grain one.

Before:

After roughly an hour of fighting with the center console:

And roughly 3 hours after the project started:

With the majority of the interior swapped for the wood trim options it finally feels less cheap inside.

I think they figure that no one in the right mind would need to remove the center console unless there was a problem so big that the car would have to be taken to a shop/dealership.

I haven't been in the right mind for a while though...

Nice!

If you're interested, I have a set of 16" 5 spokes with summer tires I would be willing to sell for quite cheap.
