Yes!!!! I'm in the middle of a TT swap on my '96 too. It's become so much more time, hassle, and money than I ever thought it would be. Hey, if you decide you ever want a legit '99 JSPEC bumper, I bought one and had the bracket shaved. It's just sitting in my garage all unpainted and unused. Best of luck to you on this build, man. Its going to be awesome.

Yeah, VG30's are a pain! lol I am just not a big fan of the '99 bumper. I would take a TT front bumper w/ a stillen lip any day over a '99 bumper... Thank god I'm not on 3ZC saying that... I'd probably get banned!

I bolted up the transmission to the test block last night, and dropped the vh in. Next I need to level out the engine, and start on some engine mounts!

I had to get the +22 offset for my front brakes, the SRT-8 BBK won't clear the +30. Since I don't have the front fenders installed I'm not sure how far they sick out. The backs stick out about 1" so I'm going to make some fender flares. Something nice and clean, then mold it into the quarter panel.

Well it's been awhile since I updated. I got myself a Everlast tig and started welding up my intake manifold along with engine mounts. I also re-designed the intake manifold to sit 1/2" lower and have more volume. This is what I got so far.

New intake design on the left, old design on the right.


Side view.


Cut through runner.


Runners welded.


Rear Nismo 370Z 14" Brake rotors.


Engine Mount.

Thanks! I'm really happy how they turned out.

Stripping the engine bay to metal! Slow and tedious work. Do it right the first time!


Holes welded, brackets removed, still have a little more to work on and smooth out.

Update!

Got some exterior goodies over the break

Winfactory CSL-R Spoiler that I waited 10 months for lol


TBO Sideskirts

I had the hardest time trying to decide on which sideskirts to choose... I think I made the right decision!

Things are getting underway again. I spent some time today disassembling the SRT-8 brake calipers today. Getting them ready for a rebuild and powder coat. Sending some misc. parts to be powdered as well.



Tomorrow I plan on removing the rear bumper and dropping the rear subframe. Doing a complete restoration of the rear suspension.
