E85/E98 in 55 Gal Drums

Well, as many of you know, those of us in the Philadelphia area and suburbs have very limited access to E85/E98 fuels. I am currently building a car that would really benefit from running some corn.

Thus, I wanted to ask you guys about your experiences buying it in bulk, as I never have but I would like to. Also, it is rumored that if 4 barrels are bought at a time, large discounts are granted. Are there any Northeaster suppliers of E85/E98 that sell 55gal drums to the public?

Thoughts?

I've come up with these sites thus far, but E98 nearly always comes in at ~$5/gal.

Wanting to buy ethanol in bulk and you making it are two separate conversations.

To the OP, i've wanted to buy it in bulk as well but have always been stopped by shipping expenses. I guess if we bought enough barrels, it'd be worth while. I know several locals that would buy a barrel each, including myself. I may contact those links and see how much I can get it at wholesale...maybe we can all help each other out here.

You could always try to find a way to be a retailer of high ethanol fuels, as your own sort of filling station.

I've got about a dozen people interested. I'm going to call for pricing on Monday and update this thread then.

Most of the places will ship for free when you order more than 4 barrels.

Also look into the Ignite stuff, pretty good ****.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

Very excited to hear details when you call. From what I head, they'll usually offer free shipping when a large purchase is made. I hope we can all help each other out here.

I signed up w/ Ignite fuels today and will be placing an order later this week. We'd be looking at $475/ barrel (shipped) or $9/gal if you don't want a barrel. I can offer volume discounts as well if you want more than one. Message me for more info.
