if you havent already, check out www.wrxhackers.com and also read mick's quick tuning guide at http://www.pdxtuning.com/utec_tune_g...2004-notes.pdf
it was built around the utec but is by far the best thing i've read on tuning basics.

I gave that article a quick read and it seems to cover most of the basics for tuning... Do you have a wideband o2 setup in your car criz? If not I wouldn't really rely on the stock o2 for properly gauging your air/fuel ratio. Might be worth the money to hit up a dyno with a true wideband. I always tune for an 11:1 af ratio and then mess around with the timing settings trying to maximize timing without getting any knock. Street tuning is a little more difficult without a wideband. Good luck and let me know if you need any help!

I was going to rely on the stock wideband (it reads 11.1 -> 20.3) although I am looking into either the AEM or the LM-1... I like the AEM since it is a gauge solution... not sure though...

thanks for volunteering to help... I may take you up on that... you work for alcohol?
