I still think that's the most badass thing ever. BOV in the stock airbox.....stroke of genius.

Haha, that thing is just awesome. I bet that thing smokes everything that tries to race it. Of course that is assuming none of the really fast guys wants to even waste their time cause it looks stock.

That use to happen to me all the time. Not cause my car looks stock under the hood but cause it looked like a simple 4 banger on the outside.

Of course that is until I started putting stickers all over it, lol.

at first glance that looked bone stock besides the wires, I was wondering wtf is up with it, then the blow off valve in the air box is a unique touch,

can we get some specs like what turbo you have in there and engine management, and some super spy pics of the setup, maybe from underneath, it looks interesting though nj

I can only wish it was my car.

It looks bone stock because of the stock honda heat shield covering the turbo. You can see the turbo plain as day in the 3rd pic.

Now that's my kind of car!

I love sleepers. In fact, does this underhood shot of my car look like it's a low 13 second car?

Nitrous is alot easier to hide though, lol.

2.4l >>>>> 2.2l. It's such a shame they swapped it out for such a piece engine.

Ecotec??? A Piece engine??? Please... you and I both know the Ecotec has proven to be more durable than the LD9. Stock vs Stock however, the LD9 whoops the L61

The verdict is still out on the eco's reliability. I hear about another damn eco blowing up every other week from either boost or spray. I never heard of an eco taking a 100 shot without blowing, let alone for two years. But I do have to say, the LD9 is known for difficult to replace water pumps (but not short lived compared to any other car really) and #3 rod bearing failure, although 99% of those cases can be traced back to neglect. As far as power production, the LD9 stays ahead of the eco mod for mod (it's been dyno proven by two friends of mine) and both engines can only stand about 280 WHP before the con rods let go.

I remember reading a 800HP build up of an ECOtec engine a while back. They built it up the old fashioned way, run the motor till it breaks, make the broken parts stronger, then break it again. If I remember correctly, the stock rods in the ECOtec were powder metal rods and didn't break till around 450HP, and I remember that all 4 of them broke simultaneously.
