Might be going Saab soon

Yeah you read right. But last night cosmic95 (one of the saab guys on here) let me drive his 2003 Saab 9-5 Aero. I must say that thing is a blast to drive. It has all of the creature comforts that the passat has such as fuel economy status, heated seats, and I actually like the whole key in the center console. It took me a while to get used to where the clutch engages compared to the V-Dub but the car is like a rocket once the boost kicks in and I love the overboost in 3rd gear. As my foot mashed the accelerator to the floor my grin increased directly proportional to the speed of the car. The car handles quite well since it was wet out last night and it only being FWD. Very impressed and Ill have to agree with the Saab guys how they say that no one gives Saab the credit it deserves. As Andrew said to me "Saabs are know for being driven by doctors and architects" Well I will happily support that stereotype being a future architect.

Would people post in here if I said I think a Saab 9-5 Can pull on an STI?

We just got one for the BABE rally. I'll let you know what we think about it as we get into it.

vypurr,

because you took the time to post such a ridiculous statement, i hope you'll take the time to click on this link...

this is a particular circumstance where the "comfortable" 9-5 would more than likely rape a stage 1 or 2 STi.

Let me just say this... I really do love WRX's, thats why i use them as a performance indicator for my car. they (lets not forget evo's too) really set the bar for "cheap speed." and isn't that why we all belong to this forum anyway?

That is a very clean install with a very very smooth tq curve. I am sure that if it was able to hook up it would give an sti or evo a very hard race and probably win. But you gotta admit that its a rarity to see one of them with that kinda work.

it is rare to see that level of work on a 9-5. Their ecu's (bosch trionic 7) are a very tricky tune. and only about a handful of companies in the entire world offer mailbox tunes. other saabs, such as the 900, NG900, and 9000, are substantially easier to tune and honestly are much more potent than the 9-5 as far dollar-to-HP.

My sister is actually working on her engineering Phd. at the University of Michigan doing research on engine management for combustionless engines. its a program supported by mo-town and bosch. shes promised me that she'll teach me to tune T7 so maybe ill be able to get my 9-5 to that level without some silly swedish company. by the way... she drives a saab too.

droptop- go for it.

There's a lot more tuned saabs running around than you might think. They're like stealth bombers, you don't know they're there until they blow the crap out of you.

Another useless post by Susie But on the other hand I still think that it can pull on an STI. I have riden in an STI and riden in a saab 9-5 Aero and from my own perspective I think the saab could take it.

Atleast I know I got to you. My day is complete.
Good thing I was talking about cosmic's car? Since that is the saab I was originally talking about...
