Xotic, can't remember if it's $300 or $350.

I think Area1320 is still running a special on Clutch Installs. I had them do mine, if you do a quick search you'll see the review I posted.

I had an exedy stage 1, it was perfect for a vf34 setup.

I honestly would go with that, as soon as I put my act HD 2600 in I broke the tranny in half, the clutch was just too strong.

Everyone has deals for $750 bought and installed on the exedy stage 1, then you can get the flywheel option or just resurface yours.

The ACT isn't that bad of a clutch - I have an ACT Stage 1 clutch on my RS, stock RS tranny and I have had zero problems with it. yeah, it obviously grabs a lot harder than stock but if you take it easy you should be fine.

Unless you had one of the glass trannies the 02/early 03s were notorious for then I guess it was just bad luck.

I gotta ask, what do you plan on doing to get 350whp? You won't make that on a ej205 unless your on c16.

The wrx appliacation is probably alot strong than the rs application.

It's way to strong, I know, I had it. Right now with it in the 6mt I can bang gears and it rolls away fine, that 5mt just sucks. If you want to break the tranny, then be my guest get the act. It's an easy way to upgrade to a 6MT or PPG's, so why not, right?

I am at over 23k miles on the ACT clutch - just depends on how you drive it. Please don't quote me on this, but everyone on RS25 seems to be in common agreement that the RS trannies are a bit stronger than the WRX trannies from 02/03 (not 04+ since after 04 they recieved a revision and the gears were widened). Just look at ralph, running low 12s on stock RS tranny with a crapload of passes down the track. pete is on his 5spd L tranny doing low 13s. I think the 02/03 trannies must have just had crappy design in general and something just caused em to go early.

You won't even come close to 350 on pump, especially if your tryin to have a safe tune.

You can do 330whp on a 18g setup, buy mine!

I heard a kid did 345whp with a fp-green on a 2.0L, but that must be terrible for lag.

I think an exedy stage I should be able to hold 350 as would an ACT - but I have heard many times of people breaking trannies with the clutch. So if you want to play it safe go with an exedy.

I would always recommend an OEM clutch if you are staying at stock power levels but you obviously are gunning for more, so that is kind of out of the question as it would be a waste of time.

Clutches don't break trannies. People and their driving styles do. If you don't abuse the **** out of your drivetrain, the ACT or Exedy will do you just fine. There is no reason an organic disc should break a trans unless you are slamming the living hell out of your gears. And that is not the fault of the clutch. You can make 350whp on pump. It's just going to take a larger turbo and a conservative tune in the hands of a good tuner. Yes there will be a little more lag, but that is the compromise. Might I suggest a GT3076R?

Auto Speed does a good job installing clutches at a price that cant be beat. The oem clutch will handle anything your going to dish out of a stock ej20 block.
