How-To: 90-91 DSM "Sleepy Eye/Chiclet Mod"

Ok so you want to change the boring old flip-up headlights on your 1Ga model. So here is a little tutorial to make your car a little bit cooler.

Part : 1

Normal, Flip-up Headlights

-Take off the kick panel located on the passenger side floor (1 screw, 1 plastic lock pin)

-Reach up and pull down mess of wires and plastic connectors.
-Look for a little white plastic square about the size of a, umm, chiclet? Theres 3 wires going into it. And theres only one connector that looks like this.

-A pair of needle nose pliers and a small screwdriver are what I used. Just pry the fuse looking thing out of the middle. Its also white and has 3 silver prongs on it. when you get it out, id put it somewhere where u can find it later, in case u sell the car.

Continue on to Part 2:

Part 2:

Ok, now that you have the "chiclet" out, you can turn your lights on and they will shine through the front lenses. It will look like this:

Ok, here is where it gets tricky. If you want to make them "sleepy", do the following:
1. Turn your light switch off.
2. Use the pop-up button to bring the lights up
3. As the lights are coming up, turn on your headlights, and it will "freeze" the lights in the position they are in when you turn the lights on, catch them at the right spot and they will be sleepy.

With the chip out, you will no longer be able to raise and lower the headlights when you turn them on, and off. You will need to use the pop-up switch. To turn your lights on like normal. Just turn your headlights off, push the pop-up button, wait til they go all the way up and then turn the headlights on.

To look extra cool , get some xenon lights and they will turn out like this:

Enjoy and have fun. Any questions, feel free to PM me.
