Also, it looks like you have threads on those nipples? Is that a new function for SW07 or am I just an idiot and can not find it in SW06. I've just been putting the annotated cosmetic threads on all my drawings, but true threads would be nice.
The true threads on the clevice's and ball joints are there as downloaded from McMaster/Carr's website. They are awesome with a ton of true solidworks parts for a lot of their components.

The other "threads" are on the fastners in Solidwork's Toolbox parts. They don't display by default, but there is a pull down window within SmartFastners called "schematic" on the thread display. This shows threads as real 3D geometry, but they are just revolved thread profiles (not thread helix's). With assemblies approaching this size, the threads start to slow things down however, but the sure do look nice.

I also agree that Solidwork's thread functions are very weak with the cosmetic threads.

BTW, did anyone get a chance to open the 3D assembly yet?

Does it work for you?

I need to take a look at the McMaster stuff. I've just been drawing everything up on my own. But I have been getting bearing drawings from Aurora, but they're IGES files and I can't seem to get the FEA to work with them in there. It doesn't like to mesh the stuff.

I just tried opening the assembly and it doesn't work for me because the files is a newer version than what I have on here. So I think you need to download the viewer if you want to take a look at it. I have the edrawings that came with SW06.

If you want a fully cable driven throttle control I don't think that it would be too hard. You could run 2 independent cables from the rollers and make them join up at a mounting point somewhere on the block and then run through the firewall into a custom pedal assembly. Feeding 2 cables into a pedal shouldn't be too hard since all you have to do is add another mounting point for the second cable and then wrap it around something.

Problem is you would need custom throttle cables and have to measure the absolute exact distance from both rollers to the pedal - but if it's not right the motor might act wierd since there are air pressure discrepancies.

That's baller. Just get that bitch polished up nicely and it's going to set the car off nicely. I will say it again, you are going to have on nasty engine bay, I can't wait!

Agreed with everyone else, VERY nice drawings. I can't open the 3D file though.

I remember when you posted a month or so back with a picture of the JUN engine bay saying you were looking into roller barrel TB's and have been quietly waiting for an update. Glad to see it! Keep us posted.

Download E-Drawings viewer here. It's much cooler to look at when you can zoom and rotate this in 3D. You can also measure and section I think too (at least I can)

Wow nice job Bill, looks great.

I have just one question though. Since you will be running ITBs now, how will you acount for varying vacuum in the cylinders at idle. I did not see any adjustments for the barrels between cyls 1/3 and 2/4.

The key is in the 1/4" hose barbs right at the bottom of the ITBs. These will run into a quad aluminum vac manifold, thru a check valve, then into a vac accumulator for the brake booster and other connections.

Since all cylinders are plumbed together at the aluminum vac manifold, this should balance out any vac fluctuations at idle between cylinders. The synchonizing (which I think you are talking about) between the 2 banks of cylinders will be handled by the linkage on the back of the ITBs. Adjustment is there (In the threaded rod links) to make sure that both sides are open and closed the same degree.

This really isn't overly difficult with the hard stops (dowel pins) that are on both ITB housing caps. Idle adjustment will be handled either by a IAC system or an idle screw TBD.

I am still contemplating removing the stock TB servo motor and using it to drive the synchro arm in the center. This way everything stays semi close to "stock" with respect to idle control.

BTW heres the JUN Hyper Lemon WRX vid (should be up soon on youtube)

looks good. just one question, i didnt see any provision for base idle adjustment. im also not totally sold on a bar type linkage, seems like it would get wobbly. perhaps a wheel hardmounted to the motor would work better? matter of fact if you used a wheel you could mount a base idle screw in the engine mount which would simplify things a little bit.
good luck, looks like a sweet project

Can you save SW models as .iges or .sat files? Inventor won't open .easm.

Ball end / clevis links are used on almost every ITB application I've ever seen. I have about 100 different pics of different throttle linkages and they all (every single one) use this method to sync both banks.

This set-up is kinda like a slide-carb on a dirt bike correct??? I was under the impression that this kinda set-up was also used on F1 cars in the past.
