Depending on the vehicle. I guess. I know when I had my escort, Accel coils were the devil and always crapped out. The MSD usually held up better. But the stock motorcraft was still best. Unless you are doing some big mods or you had a coil recently crap out, I wouldn't bother just upgrading.

Although the Saturn's case, I just did plugs and coils on a Saturn L300 V6 today and those ****ty bosch coils (3 cylinders per coil) and the Bosch +3 plugs ran terrible.

well i installed the msd wires and coil packs. the coil packs made my car sputter and bog on acceleration. So i went and got oem coil packs. call me crazy but the msd packs seem to have a stronger spark where as the oem doesn't feel as strong to me.

Ok, I'll call you crazy. There's no way you're going to tell the difference between the sparking power with a butt dyno, lol.

Ignition components are one of the last things you should really ever have to upgrade, as they really need only be upgraded or changed on most cars when you start making 100+hp over stock. That's when you will start needing cooler spark plugs, and sometimes the stock ignition can't overcome the compression in the cylinder and it will need a stronger arc etc etc etc. Putting aftermarket plugs and wires on a more or less stock car will net you just about nothing if you're replacing a good condition OEM system.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.
