Question for guys with street bikes

I am looking to buy a street bike this spring/summer and was wondering how much you guys pay a month for insurance and who you go through with your insurance? Just trying ti figure out how much it will cost me a month to own a street bike. What about maintenance and other stuff like that, I cant imagine maintenance to be as much as a car.

$324 a year for insurance (basic and I'm 22) and about $100 for maintenance (oil change, wax, soap) Every year or 2 i'll buy a new rear tire

Maintenance is cheaper... IF you can do it yourself. Otherwise it's actually more expensive due to it being more of a "specialty" type of work. Wheels don't just unbolt you see.

Relax, bud. When the dude with a drag Honda and a boosted daily that has had fast Honda's for years AND fabs his own parts tells the new kids on the block that they're doing it wrong, it's time to step back and learn something.

As with all things depends on your coverage. Had to carry full coverage through my first year of ownership with a brand new bike. Cost me over $1700 for a year. Now I have minimum coverage through Allstate and its $127 a year.
