Water pump replacement

How hard is it to replace the water pump on my car? I did the timing belt/water pump about 25k miles ago and by the way it sounds my water pump is already taking a dump on me. When my car is at idle there is a growling noise coming from the water pump or something around the water pump. If i hold the rev's at say 2k the sound "speeds up" with the motor. It almost sounds like a belt rubbing on a piece of my timing cover. I am gonna look into the situation further just to make sure i don't end up replacing something that doesn't need to be done.

It kinda pisses me off that an OEM replacement that i bought from the dealer may be going out on me already. I think everything was replaced right around 18 months ago. I replaced everything from the timing belt, water pump, tensioners and pulleys, accessory belts. I just don't understand why this would be happening so soon.

Water pump replacement isnt too hard. Pretty much a timing belt job. If you have ever done the timing belt then you know whats involved.

Make sure its not the crank pulley. Mine growled and chewed up my timing cover.

Thats kinda what i'm thinking its doing is chewing at my timing cover. I don't have a stock crank pulley tho. I'm gonna pull it apart the next nice day we get and see what i can find. If i don't see anything obvious then i know its the water pump.
