So to clarify things!!! I was not messing around on the road..so many stories out there. There's no way I could hit illegal speeds in one block..I was getting some drinks and did a u-turn 1-2 and when I hit third gear it was high 4500 rpms around 12 psi maybe. Not flooring it and I hydroplaned/trying to correct I gassed it a little more and the rear kicked out I'm not sure what happened next all I know is I hit a pole on the driver side and I guess I swung around the pole and hit the stairs at the condo ..
I'm not sure what gear he was in when he was doing 4500 RPM. So he was either doing 4500 RPM in 2nd gear and shifted to third, with stock tire diameter and stock gear ratios that puts him at 40-45 MPH. The other possibility is he was doing 4500 RPM in 3rd gear with stock tire diameter and gear ratios that puts him at 60+ MPH. If it was 3rd, he was a jackass for doing that speed in the rain. If he was in 2nd gear doing 40+ MPH in the rain, that wasn't that bright if he didn't have the proper tires for it.

Hopefully he learned from this experience.

Uh oh, some new rumors appear

"Sucks for that driver of that supra but glad he was ok. (none of my photos)
...word is a small race was occurring, an undercover popped out and then supra took off....slicks don't stick in the wet..."

Do not look like slicks to me on that thing. Fail rumors.

You should download: Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River

There is a death metal version on youtube that has a Porsche in it too if that helps.

Why so much hate honestly? People do make mistakes in life, this one just is magnetized times a million since it's a gathering of younger people and cars, and obviously because it was a supra, a highly respected car. Just take a chill pill since it's not your car. And before you say about the condo or the people at risk etc, condo has insurance for accidents or freak of nature events, and people that are chillin on the side of the road drinking, in the rain watching cars drive by do it at their own risk.

Sucks for the owner he will learn from it, and luckily no one got injured or hurt in any way!

So if I post in this thread and own a Supra does this mean I live in the Supraverse too?

a lot of people in this thread should drive a fast rwd car in the rain. just because your 100whp fwd econo pos won't break loose in the rain unless you really beat on it, doesn't mean you should use that as grounds for comparison that he was driving it hard.

He said he dosent drive in the rain, so he should of taken it slow on wet pavement. I find it hard to believe that he could of spun out doing the speed limit which has to be around 35.

+1 I know from experience my 5.0 mustang breaks loose extremely easy in the rain/wet. But I also know that it is completely stupid to go anywhere near 4,000+ rpms no matter how much % throttle is being used. There is NO reason to be doing 4500rpms in 2nd or 3rd gear in a 35mph zone.. just retarded.

My 300+hp rwd rear engine 2400 lb go kart had a hard time braking lose in the rain with the good allseasons and slicks, what a shame.

rebelalliance: generalized statments of a whole car community are just stupid. I met and talked to alot a few NE Supra members and they are very chill. On a serious note though is this you?
