I am not excited to work the course. Its gonna be cold. Im trying to get Susie to run the legacy, I just have to put her gram lights back on. Hopefully the beat RE92s hold up to race.

dude, thats not what auto x is about. Notice its called SOLO.. you race your time not everyone elses.
I mentioned a couple of years back that we should make our own class, and post our times here. But the handicap kinda gets in the way i guess.

Why not use that PAX handicap system to make it more fair between TST then? I just don't like losing, I'm sure I'll still have fun, but it would be nice to finish at the top 1/3 sometime this year, unfortunately with my class it's not happening.

Welcome to SCCA classing. I think they have a group of grade A nitwits designated to come up with classing and rules. Don't even get me started on how its OK to run R comps in "stock" class. Its like the guys that come on the forums boasting amazing 1/4 times "stock" then you click the thread and it says something like "CAR IS BONE STOCK OTHER THAN INTAKE/EXHAUST, SHIFTER, AND DRAG RADIALS".
I just compare my time to everyone else regardless of class. Except I realized that's even more depressing because instead of losing to one person in F-stock, I lose to EVERYONE. I need the driver mod. |

a cars power or mods has very little to do with the kind of times you'll turn out there. Its 95% driver and 5% car. infact when you're starting out the less mods you have the better off you are.
if its you're first time run in the novice class and make sure you take an instructor everytime you run. you'll be amazed how much you improve. also, let them drive your car so you can see what its capable of. don't worry about winning anything. just go out there with an open mind and drive the best you can and you'll have fun no matter what place you finish.

also remember the slower you go, the faster times you'll get. i forget who taught me that and it didn't make sense to me at first, then i finally got it. if this is your first time doing it and you have an evo, dont just think because your car has more power, your gonna be one of the people with the fastest times, and yes this kind of racing is 90% driver, 10% car. Just enjoy it and have fun. Bring some of your friends out and compare times at the end of the day.
i also think its bs how they put cars in different classes, but what can we do lol.

I don't pay much attention to what class I'm in, I just go out there and drive. there is SOO much talent in the philly/NJ region no matter what car you drive or what class you're in you will never be FTD unless you've been doing this for a LONG while. thats a good thing though. Im glad we have serious drivers, it raises the bar for everyone.
