looking to help some ppl out

gonna have off work for a little and will help ppl out with cars just looking to learn some new stuff, not the best mechanic but know the basics, but hey free help..., trying to stay in bucks county area

ok i need some help



ive tried to narrow down my problem but the casue has escaped me


the iossue i have is....


i get a whining sound coming from my car (engine bay near the belts) that sounds like i got a turbo (not really but sorta) the best way to descrive the sound is audio whine. Like when u hook a system up , & you get the altanator sound over the speakers....sounds EXZACTLy like thats..BUT its not coming over the speakers its coming from the engine bay near the pullies.....ive examined the belts & they are good, ive tightend & loosend both pullieys but it ddidnt make it any better......my brain hasing me belive that its got to be either )) the altanator, WP, or power steering pump......what im going to do next is, remove the PS belt & start her up real quick .....if it deosnt make the noise then i know its either the WP or PS pump, if it still makes the noise, im gonna reconntect that pulley belt & then discconnect the alt belt....if the noise stops then i know its the alt, or the AC compressor....if its STILL making the noise


IM ****ED!!! lol nah but then im outta troubleshooting steps.....any recomendations??

could possibly be your timing chain tensioners.

really???? it sound more like a rotational sound....i do have a new spare tensionr & gasket.....i guess i can preform the above taks first & if that doesnt fix it , ill swap tensioners

Sounds like you power steering pump is bad
