I was under the impression that the last generation cobra was a much better car. Easier to work the balls off of it!

the 5.0 motors are a lot easier to work on, and parts are cheaper. but the stock 03 cobra block is good for 1000+ hp, all it needs is different heads and p&p intake. that's what makes it so nice, you can make big numbers and not do all that much work.
well ok, i guess a custom turbo set up in a fox is a lot of work..... |

the car is still being built right now. we are debating constantly on the set up, and have yet to make up our minds. the car should hopefully be done for this season, we are determined to get it running this year. it's been in the building stage for way too long (kept changing the set up which delayed things, and my srt has kind of gotten all the glory recently). we have finally gotten a good motor that we're happy with, but now the debate is about the turbo (one big or two smaller). it did have twins on the 302, but we don't know about space with the modular in there. either way we need new turbos, the ones that we have are too small now.
the car will be mainly just a street/drag car, but my b/f does plan on running it in the true street class at the fun ford weekends this year. i do not have an nhra licence, so i cannot run it until i do (i also need to figure out a booster, as i can't see over the 4" cowl hood. yes, i'm short). should be interesting to see it run that class. i don't forsee a problem with it as long as we get the kinks out before the first event. a fresh build always has a few bugs so we're expecting to break a few things the first time out. as soon as we have the piping done i'll take some pics! |

Love the '03/'04 Cobras. I've seen several listed for $23-25K, very tempting. Drop about another $3K into it and I'd be a very happy camper :D I'm attributing these thoughts to the fact that I haven't driven my truck since November, I'm sure once I get behind the wheel again, all thoughts of selling my baby will vanish LOL
