hdr? mustang

i hate to use the term HDR b/c i don't know what i'm doing... at all

but i was messing around with the g/f's phone and realized that i took 11 pics of the mustang from the same spot while messing w/ the ap. and iso.

here are three pics that i've gotten together after letting photoshop "merge to hdr" and messing with the toning curve.

i think the last one looks most like what people expect to see from an HDR type shot, but there is nothing else going on in the background to make it stand out more as "hdr" the car also looks like it had been pasted into the scene.

the first one was be attempting to get as "natural" a shot as i could with the color... i failed. the car is too blue grey in all of the pics, potentially due to the grey sky as it had been on friday after the quick rain storm.

Never liked those wheels, but #2 makes the whole car look good from my perspective.

lol, they were taken with a SLR, or dslr or whatever... which goes to show how much i suck at this so far

i'd like to get proficient with the camera, so this is my first attempt at messing around w/ the iso/aperture to get decent color of the car. I'll take more today after the wash and wax if it doesn't rain. I'll grab the required over exposed image and under exposed image to get some of those crazy stupid "hdr" highlights... be nice to grab a shot during dusk when the colors start to change

here you go man:

http://www.stuckincustoms.com/hdr-tutorial/

^^if you read through the tutorial and do what he says your HDR's will come out awesome!! He also shows how to use a masking layer and some of the original shots you took to help bring up the dark area's like your wheels. Either way, thats the only tutorial you'll really need.

btw, are you doing the HDR in photoshop? or are you doing it in photomatix?
