Well sorry, I guess since you've seen a real one in the states, that must mean that they're easily available and you can find them in the local classifieds. Good luck with that search.

There is some in the states, but they are not cheap and not very easy to come by. You can find R32 GTR's easier than a S15.

But think about it, every example of a good drag race 240, is a fully built shop car with a lot of work done to it, that 99% of the people on this site can't comprehend. So for the audience, drag racing a 240 isn't the best idea. They would be much better off getting a different car if they like going fast in a straight line. There's just too many issues with building a drag race 240 that will actually be competitive in anything real drag racing.

So unless you plan on making it a track only car that won't be registered or insured, then it's not going to happen for you. And even if it were just to be a track car, I don't think you would want to pay the premium to actually have one.

And also the general suspension geometry of a s13 and s14 is not launch happy whatsoever and is terrible for drag racing. Caster angle is way too low so the front tires have no control during a launch. The rear suspension geometry allows for large amounts of wheel hop during a launch so nothing likes to grip to the track. There are no good spring rates I've seen for coilovers or general springs for 240s to allow for a flowing damper rebound. 240s dont like to fit slicks without tubbing fenders. This is my friend's car, he couldn't run the slicks because they were rubbing on the side skirt, and then on the rear quarter after pulling off the side skirt. I really could go on and on. Don't get me wrong, I personally think a 240 is one of the most motor swap friendly chassis out there whether you want to a 4, 6, or 8 cylinder car. On top of that, they can be quick, easy, cheap, and affordably. Dipping into high 11's in a 240 IS NOT DIFFICULT. However, if you want to consider anything lower, regardless of what hp you have you need to adjust the general dynamics of the suspension. Ask Ivan about his suspension, it is neat-o. |

Bwahahaha, I never even realized that. Most of my pics I don't have a bumper on either, it likes to fall or get ripped off.
I drive this hunk-o-****..... I like zipties. My friend's car in front, we painted it a few weeks ago, and threw an rb in there this past weekend. |
