Two questions Joe.

What color is your valve cover powdercoated? It looks soo damn good.

Also what is the benefit/point of mounting the BOV in the fenderwell?

It's one of JNZ Finishing's hybrid colors called "Raspberry Pop" it's a dual stage Candy Red over Silver Vein. We tried to match the color of the VC to the color of the car.

As far as the BOV goes, there was no point. It was just loud as ****. That's the way the piping worked out becase I had a pre-flanged section and that's where it fit best. I actually had to end up drilling a hole for a 2nd boost source to use the 2nd vacuum port on the Type S because it was too far from the throttle plate and therefore reacting to slowly and causing compressor surge...

Bumpskies for Updates!!!

Passenger side was welded on friday and now stands on it's own! No more clamps!!

Haha, welded my last initial on the inside of the bracing. This gets covered by an outside panel (part of the inner fender apron) so no one besides me and the people seeing this pic will know it's there

Also got the flywheel back from the machine shop. Fresh re-surfacing and machined to the step height for the ACT clutch.

ACT 2600 w/ 6 puck sprung hub disc

Don't worry guys... It won't be too long before you see this car on the road again... I'm not gonna let him quit on it, and now that mine is done again too, I may give out a hand to get it finished. Looks much better Joe, I want to stop by and look at it sometime this week....

Inclimate weather held me back from any real progress last week (Mainly because I was distracted by the urge to ride/play in the snow

)
But I was back at it today, got the driver side completely drilled out and removed from the car today. Also test fitted the new OEM piece.

Surface Prep/Measurement/Final Clamp are tomorrow, then Christmas break then should be able to weld on Friday...

The Old Piece was pretty ****ty, this side was FAR worse than the other side

And Finally... Test Fitment...

IF and a huge IF everything stays on schedule, should be able to re-assemble the suspension, roll it over to paint, prep and spray the bay by the end of next week. I'll keep the pics updated.

No Spanks, have an OEM one. It's been that way for since a few months ago, I went to open the door and it snapped off. Figures, just one more thing... lol

thats an intense amount of work. Far Far more than i would ever do to save my pos. I think i'd just try to sell it or trade it in on an evo

I went in and out of that phase... then realized that i would pretty much have no life if i just ran out and bought an EVO on a whim like that.

I have good credit and the payment figures were more than i could bear. No to mention the fact that when the economy took a ****, i got laid off and had I ran out and bought an EVO, I'd be ****ed...

I'm glad I had enough self control not to run out and do that but that thought did come and go...
