Turbo4g63's dsm...no more exhaust leak and i did the HDL mod
I bought this car because i fell in love with dsm's the moment my cousin taught me how to drive stick in his modded 98 GSX. The second i felt boost i knew i could never go back to anything else. Not too long after driving his gsx i was working at Jeff D'ambrosio dodge/mitsubishi when this 1997 Eclipse GST turned up in the used car lot. Nothing was going to stop me from getting the car. Two weeks after the car was traded in i finally talked my parents into letting me test drive it. About an hour after that test drive, the loan papers were signed and i was the proud new owner of a DSM. I remember the very first thing i did to the car was a boost controller, then my cousin bought me the Blitz turbo timer, and well...it just rolled downhill from there. At first i was completely new to the 4G63 motor, but with some tutoring from my cousin and some other friends i slowly learned my way around the engine compartment. I had a good idea of the potential of these cars...i also knew the reputation they had (have) and knew the car would need to be taken care of. Since this is my daily driver car, i also knew i would have to be careful about what mods i did, and how i did them because i still had to keep the car reliable and on the road every day....and since March of 2004 i have done so....this car has not failed me, left me stranded, or faultered on me in any way. I intend to keep it that way!!! bone stock me and my friend Thais from when we were in high school

not quite sure...i haven't dyno'd it since it was bone stock. With only a bov, boost controller @ 15psi and a test pipe i put down 193whp 210wtq....i've done quite a bit since then...my estimated guess is somewhere around 240whp 250wtq completely untuned....if i get it tuned i am doing 550cc injectors and a fuel pressure regulator..then i should be well over 300whp 300wtq

i have a dyno sheet from the meet down at verocious but i cant take a good enough pic to be able to read it on the computer....but i made 241whp 225wtq...my afr's stayed between 11 and 12 throughout the power band...with professional tuning and dsmlink i could get up over the 300whp mark

Just a little update for the plans coming up soon. I picked up a evo 8 fmic, which is actually longer/thicker/taller than the one on my car now. My fmic that is on the car now has two small dents in the bottom that are just irritating me to no end every time i look at them. I am completely redoing the piping and switching over to short route piping, all i need is a straight piece of piping with a greedy bov flange...so keep an eye out for my greddy upper intercooler pipe to go on sale. I am gonna be keeping an eye out for a 2gb front bumper in my color so i don't have to paint it. And i'll be replacing my broken door handle. All of this should be happening in the next few weeks.

well i put the evo 8 intercooler on. Overall the job took about 4 to 5 hours. It went fairly well. I took the car for a ride after the install and my turbo is at spool about 700rpms faster than the other intercooler i had on. In the process i removed approx 30 inches of piping compared to my old setup, so it is muchhhhhhhh more efficient. i'll get pics up in a few.
