ZOMBIE CRX: Mrrawwwgghhh

Picked up my 1989 Honda CRX Si in pretty minty condition from a shady local Honda "salesman" in the summer of 03. Yellow wasn't really a color I had wanted at the time, but I love it now.

RIP EM1
I never had the money to spend on mods, as the money I didn't put into college went towards camera gear.

I did put a custom exhaust on the car: 2.25 inch piping from the cat back, with a resonator and an N1 style muffler. Always loved how the car sounded, not ricey at all
http://www.mikespock.com/sticky.wmv

My suspension gave out on me while I was on the road in early 2005. I'll say this much, do not beat on your car, it WILL break on you.

I rang in 2006 with a deer impact, and shortly after, the transmission went.

The engine removal was quite a fun time...

At this point, I wanted to go all out and restore the car to make up for never being able to build it.
I picked up numerous OEM trim parts and other pieces, and ordered a B16 swap.
I started filling and shaving the bay, which turned into a long, drawn out hectic ordeal.

I have just primered up the bay, and it will go through winter like this so I can work on areas of the bay whenever necessary. The car should be done sometime in late November.

Mods going on include a JDM B16 with LSD tranny, Koni Yellows and Neuspeed race springs, JK motorsports traction bar, and strut bars for now.

- - - - - - - -

While the CRX was being worked on, I picked up a 1984 Mazda GLC for next to nothing to drive around until the car was done.

1.5 liter engine, 75 horses, 4 speed. It was hella fun to drive around in, until it blew up around 3 weeks later. By some insane chance, I found a professionally built version of the motor for sale on ebay, and another project car developed to steal all my time.

^ After polishing it up.

A month later the engine went in, and I've been driving it around open header scaring the hell out of people. If anyone could help me with a custom exhaust, that would be most excellent.

Footage here: www.mikespock.com/wowitruns.wmv

Thanks for looking, and be glad you have a modern high horsepower car and not a hatchcrap.

Update Nov 18th.

CRX has made her way to the lair where she will be revived.

The GLC is in Mazda heaven. Soon it will be in the hands of a new owner, who plans to..well..you'll see.

Motor is in. A few more things need to be hooked up and it's back on the road.

Not exactly rust free.

I'd like to get all that repaired over winter, if anyone could recommend a shop to do it I'd appreciate it.

Wow, it looks like your project is coming along very nicely.

I am loving the clean look of the shaved valve cover, carbon/kevlar spark plug cover and the polished block.
