Sorry for not updating here... I didn't want to give up hope to pull of an event this year but at this point its looking difficult even for fall. The good news is I've made a LOT of contacts through my search this year and even though the timing didn't work out for this year we are in a better spot to secure a location for next year, and get this event back to being rock solid. I hope everyone is on board with that and that we can get everyone's support in making this event 1) happen next year, and 2) be massive.
I have not secured a location for next year yet, but plan to follow up with some of the more ideal locations to see if we can put something in place very early this time around and I hope that we will be able to secure something really good and make the meet better than ever.

at this rate you should have had it in a smaller location to keep it going year after year.. if you have to turn away cars so be it.

Yeah, that wouldn't have worked and would create massive negative feedback from the cluster**** it would have caused on the roads around the venue and the parking situation it would have created in other areas near the venue.

As bad as the negative feedback that it has caused from not having the event? I guess I just think something is better than nothing. I've seen plenty of venues that have had to turn away cars and while it leaves a bit of a blemish people still return year over year.

Gee Adam, thanks for the positivity there.

To answer your question correctly deadcell96, no the event will not be taking place this year. We will however be working on a solution to hold the event again next year. The biggest part of this is going to to be securing a location in a good area that can fit the number of cars we have without it being $10k+ just for use of the grounds.
This has been a great event for the community and for charity, and we'd love to continue holding it each year so we're going to put all our effort into making that happen.

I am pretty sure that the parking and traffic flow at FDR just aren't anywhere near able to handle the capacity.
We're mostly pushed to fairgrounds, stadiums, convention centers, large colleges, etc.
We are still certainly open to new ideas though if anyone has anything they know of thats huge and might work out well.

....its too small somewhere in the area of 1500-1700 spots?

IMO The event needs 2500+ and superb traffic flow/control that doesn't dump out onto a "highway"

With February half over, Spring isn't far off. Thought I would raise this thread from the dead.

I just have this feeling that another Spring is going to come and go without the TST Spring meet.

Its a little out of the way, and not sure if anyone mentioned it but you could always look into Carlisle fairgrounds. They host all kinds of car shows/events and have plenty of room.
