While you guys are complaining about the hondas, Ill chime in and point out that 90% of the cars I saw doing burnouts were domestic. Namely Mustangs and Camaros. Just sayin.

I did a quick little 2-3 second burnout, but nothing stupid, just enough to clean the tires... but the guys sitting there roasting the tires was reckless, but it's expected. As to the encouragement, I thought it was funny. I could literally see the cops ahead, and everyone is screaming to light em up.

Sounds like a number of ppl were being obnoxious then. Maybe I'm getting old but I just don't get it. Yeah it's rwd it's not hard to do a burn out. When ppl take the time to organize the type of events for everyone to enjoy, why not respect their rules and not do dumb ****? Especially in a line of cars. If someone had of done a burnout directly in front of me with how packed those lines to get out were I would have been out of my car and in their face. I don't need stuff kicking up all over my car.

I'd be surprised if the meet is allowed in this location again next year. I saw one cop the entire time and he was just driving around and I didn't see one person made an example of.
We always talk about how as a crowd we need to mind the locals and that they don't appreciate excessive speeding, revving, burnouts, and not supporting the local businesses.... But there's no "riot control". I know it's easier said than done, but there has to be SOME kind of deal to have stationed full time police presence during the meet. Some sort of patrol walking that line of people egging everyone on and shutting it down. I know that maybe staffing was short but where was the enforcement kicking people out for being unlawful? Where was the communication? I pulled in and was not instructed by ANYONE. No follow the signs, or drive down to the end, or any of that. and furthermore once I was parked, I almost got hit by 2 cars because the staff wanted me to reposition but didnt tell anyone else to stop or wait... I had a good time seeing all of the cars, support and vendors. It was a good time. But I also feel there needs to be more bathrooms, and another entrance or exit. And if they won't allow it then I vote for the possibility of a new venue. It's only going to get bigger by the year and these places with one in and out with a pedestrian road entrance with no traffic control and traffic for miles around isn't good for any small town or municipality. We also need more spectator parking. I saw a lot of cars that weren't even modded, let alone an enthusiast driven vehicle. It was more like an any car that pulls in pays $5 and when we run out of room everyone goes home. With emphasis on the any part. But really it comes back down to not enough space. A venue where they will allow a burnout box would take care of people doing it when they aren't supposed to. Again, I know it is easier said than done. I know it costs money, time and people to do such planning and securing a venue. But on the other side, I'm tired of hearing that as an attendee. It's not the publics issue. But yet we all get stereotyped as a crowd because of inadequate planning/staffing/space/time/etc. I realize I'm just a single person and I'm not trying to be negative and rebel. Just being honest. I look forward to next year and hope it progresses more as it has over the past couple years. As always I can't wait to see what totals came from today for make a wish. To me that's all that matters in the end.

Event Rules It is extremely important that everyone be on their best behavior to represent TriStateTuners and Make-A-Wish well this year so that we will be invited back to do this all again next year! Thanks in advance for your cooperation in helping make the meet a success. -No speeding, 10mph max limit at all times -No burnouts -No revving Again, i LOVE hearing a turbo spool, a RWD 500+ hp mustang rev, the NASTY S2000 that scared the sh!t outta me lol There was a bald fella down by the end up the line where VIP was entering who was doing a GREAT job of controlling situations... As the guy above me stated to....i PAID for VIP parking $25 but was never instructed to go park in the main entrance/runway by the vendors...i even stopped at the last table and the guys were just talking to each other and didnt pay attention to me. I didnt want to hold the line up so I just parked in the first row. Kind of glad I did bc I left before it was over and couldnt of imagined trying to get out of the VIP parking during the brunt of the meet. Last edited by jayrod16; 04-21-2013 at 08:38 PM. |

Exactly. I like to see a nice "pavement autograph" as much as anyone. Just not at an event that i'd like to see happen next year. And certainly not in a tight line of cars with no room for error. Also, fwd burnouts will always look strange to me.

I was early enough that didn't have any issues getting in with vip but yes the one way in and out is a big problem. If someone was all the way in the back it could take hours till get out.
