How easy is it to title an r32 here?

Could I just title it as a kit car? I found a clean r32 for what I percieve to be a pretty good price. The owner is selling becuase he has a GTR on the way.
Mods:

Greddy intake, q45 throttlebody, huge front mount intercooler, 60-1 turbo, 450cc injectors, adr wheels, apexi afc, guages, gtr body kit, no ac( took it out) have all the stuff for the ac, 468 geared spool rearend, tein suspension all around. Maybe more have to think.. 300zx tt fuel pump, greddy exhaust, thats about it.. Everything on the car works.

The car IS NOT titled, or legal, but can be done for 2500 he says.

My questing is if it only takes $2,500 why hasn't he done it all ready? I always see non titled R32's for sale.

legally you need a 17 digit VIN to title any car in the U.S., pretty much the R32 would have to certified as a Unibody kit car and given a 17 digit VIN to be 100% legal.

How old is the R32? Isn't there a certain age where cars can be brought in relatively easily?

I'm prepared to do that....I don't care what the title says as long as I can drive it around.

EDIT: it's a 1990 GTS-T

Contact a local DMV, and see what they say about it. I think it was only the R33 that was easiest to get registered in the states, since it was the only one that had actually passed US Crash test standard (or emissions, i forgot which)

it could be brought into canada legally and titled there... they have a 15 year rule. i believe the us is 20 years though so no dice there. i am not sure how it would work on getting it from canada to here though to be honest. i dont know any definite facts about this stuff, just what i've heard on the internet.
if you do some research and get good info about it please share it here so we can learn about it.

Yes, Motorex had the crash test done on the R33 only.

Kit cars don't need to pass crash test from what I understand. Just an inspection. If you import a rolling chassie and install the drivetrain here it can be registered as a kit car I beleive. Much like the Noble. However I have a funny feeling it's not that simple with used car shells since no one seems to be doing this.

i dont think you can do it as a kit car, people would have done that already. from what i hear it can be hard to get it titled, common eastcoast states i see with legal (using that term lightly) are the carolinas, florida, ny, and ct. i am not sure if thats a coincidence or if there laws are more grey.

Isn't there a guy on here with a real r32? I'm sure he could shed some light on this.

When I read the title, I thought you meant a Volkwagen R32. I was like "uhmmm I think it's pretty easy?"
