No way...500 x 200 is WAYY too big in my opinion

I think a 300 x 200 limit would be good. Thats big enough to have detail and words, but not tall enough or wide enough to stretch the screen.

You want more horizontal than you do vertical. 300 pix horizontal leaves like no room. 400 x 150 would be good imo

Horizontal pixels will not stretch the setup, vertical will.

its nice to have them but they can get out of control on some boards.. the size limit is a good idea. perhaps the size of a normal banner ad.

This is what i use on another forum i am on... Its 400x164 but i could crop it alttle i guess i was thinking 400x200 not cause mine will fit but because that 50 extra in height is nice.

It sucks to have to load them all the time, and they can get really annoying when the board starts looking cluttered.

Keeping them really small (400 x 200 sounds ideal) I wouldn't mind I guess.

I read, that's why I agreed with 400 x 200. It's not really a solution, more of a softening how much people have to load / deal with looking at. But if I can be turned off and people are gung ho for it, why not

I still vote no. I find them distracting, and they add unneccsary scrolling to threads. People already have avatars, and gallarys to post pics of their cars. The other problem is it adds a lot to load times, not to mention bandwidth if we host them on the server. In the end, they don't really add anything to discussions, which is what that 90% of the page is all about.
