Auto-X @ Warminster Park - 04.20.08
For those that don't know Warminster Park was once a Navy base (iirc). It has a super smooth runway that typically allows for about a minute long run. Theres always a huge turn-out with plenty of eye-candy if you'd rather not run your ride (but who wouldn't?). They run things a tad different then most regions, I'm guessing due to the 100+ cars that typically show up. They break it down into 2 run groups, A.M. (groups A&B) that should arrive about 8am for registration, and then a P.M. (groups C&D) run which should arrive a tad before 11am. We typically get 4 runs one heat, then work the course the next heat. They switch up the run order each event so you don't need to wake at the butt crack of dawn every time. Run Groups: Group A - STS2, STX, STU, STU2, All Mod Classes Group B - STS, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP, SM Group C - SS, AS, BS, CS, DS, ES, PRO Group D - FS, GS, HS, SM2, ASP, BSP, FSAE, All Prepared Classes Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it) anyone who wishes to run their vehicle needs to be a SCCA member, or purchase a weekend pass at the event (which can be used towards your full SCCA membership). The entry fee is $30 for SCCA members, and another $15 for a weekend pass if your not already a member. I'll be running 131 STS, a Black Ford Focus ZX3- if anyone wants to be friendly If anyone has any Q's, I'll try to help but I'm in no way more then a novice at this. And if this is posted elsewhere, lock and then shoot me. http://www.phillyscca.com/solo2/index.html http://www.phillyscca.com/solo2/flye...supp_rules.htm

u mentioned it being smooth, ive run there multiple times and dont remember much smoothness. cept maybe the blacktop portion farther down, other than that, the concrete section is a mess.

Well I guess- comparing it to SJR or NNJR, its smooth as a baby's bottom. It has transitions between the expansion gaps of each concrete patch, but I guess I've learned to look past that, as the 2 other regions need to course design around craters

I did not spot a aging protege- third heat got started around 2ish I guess. They will be running under the moon light tonight, poor guys!
I did terrible, I had fun. It was a super fast course- one where you really didn't want to take your foot off the pedal when you should have. Atleast that was my problem. And the lack of descent rubber, sway bars, and another 20hp!

I've been a spectator of one of these events before. I thought it was awesome. I'd love to run the prelude some time, but that'd be after some suspension mods. Question: WTF is that thing. That turbo homemade-esque quick as **** car that torched that course? I saw it last year and was amazed.

i ran first heat and worked second.
the course was very fast, and equally technically. thats one reason i like philly region and their use of the warminster run way. i didnt do half bad, the car amazed me once again and my performances was good. now im just waiting for photos. Jason 97 STX
