iso's '05 Cobalt SS
i do not pay for the car, and i do not pay for insurance, and i do not pay for gas. however, i take care of this car, and i love this car. i put only my money into the mods, so no my parents don't pay for those as well. well, this is basically what the car looked like the day i brought it home. this is about 2 hours into removing the ugly vinyls it had on it upon purchase. i do not have any pics of the full vinyl but trust me it was bad.

lol, yea it came with graphics stock. i wish i had a pic of them, they were staight up gross. they were a 100 dollar add on dealer option that i had taken off of the price of the car cuz i hated them. it's currently shaved, but we'll get to that later.

ok, next installment.
right around when i got this car, i decided to quit my job. i had been working at toys r us for about a year earning 6.50 an hour and i was sick of it. it was my summer before leaving for college and i just wanted to be a ****less layabout and hang out with my friends all summer. so, the car stayed stock for about a week. i had read on a cobalt forum about an airbox mod that was fairly inexpensive, but would open up airflow and cause a huge increase in the volume of the supercharger whine. the inexpensive part is what caught my eye, since i was receiving my last paycheck and it was a measley 100 dollars. so i went to autozone and picked up a k&n filter (model # e-1009) for 60 bucks. the filter is cylindrical in shape, is much longer than the stock paper filter, abd has a 3.xxx opening and fits the end of the stock tube perfectly. the stock airbox in the ss cobalts is located in the fenderwell. so, i had to jack up the driver's side of the car, remove the wheel and wheel well liner to get to the box. removed the box from the car. put the filter on, drilled a hole in the side of the box for a screwdriver and clamped the sucker on there. then put it back in the car leaving the bottom cover of the airbox off. the sound the car made when hitting boost was intoxicating. my fuel mileage went from an avg of 24/25 to about 15. i gunned it everywhere, and it made me smile. here's some more pics of it after i got the rest of the decals off and bought a better camera and took the rear bowtie off and a couple random pshops: and a link to a video from the dude who i heard about the airbox mod from. 'cept he used a spectre filter: http://www.pnrcomputersystems.com/do...s/SSintake.AVI i'll get some vids with sound of it in the car since i finally got my camera back. but that's gonna have to wait until the next installment.

You should figure out how to do that middle light-delete...and then tint the outer one...it looks SOOO clean like that.
Keep it up and SLAM the thing!!

they just have the 2 lights in the quarters. so, i could get a 4 door trunk lid and there i go, no more lights in the trunk. the thing that sucks is i then have no reverse lights. so, i was thinking, do like the corvette does and put some reverse lights in the bottom of the bumper. i could do that cuz there's a nice spot at the bottom of my bumper where the black plastic grille is in the rear lip. however, i do not know how to wire, so i would be completely lost on this. and, i want to lower it. but it already rides like ****, and the past week i've hardcore bottomed out on 3 seperate occasions. i'm kinda scared to lower it, but i know it would look so much better than it does. i'll probly end up doing it eventually.
