I'd love another big spring meet. It would be much easier to get the word out now as well.

Who's down to restart the meet?

Where’s the scene these days? Who is putting on decent sized car shows and meets? I’m really out of touch with the car scene in the tristate area now so I’d need you guys to tell me about what it’s like.
I would support the effort but just know a LOT of work goes into it!
Or if we didn’t expect it to be too big we could go back to basics and just have a sub 100 car meet at a park and just rent one area out.

Unfortunately the meet grew to a size that it imploded. I tried to run a lean operation so we could donate as much money as possible to Make A Wish. My mistake was not hiring 3-4 police officers to be on site the entire time. I guess I was naively optimistic that it wouldn't be necessary and I hated to spend a substantial amount of money to have them there.
A small number of immature selfish people completely ruined it for the thousands of others who followed the rules at the event, and we weren't welcome to come back to the same location again which was a great location, cheap, and really flexible with our needs. That was a huge loss, and the beginning of the end of the event sadly.

Because of the size of the group, our options were very few and most of those pushed us to the Philly stadium parking lots which charged an impossible amount of money to hold the event there. I also looked at places like Carlisle and elsewhere but they just weren't going to work out.
I worked really really hard to find a new location (I had even ALMOST worked out a way to work with 3 different property owners to combine 7 different lots in Camden by the stadium/aquarium/concert venue but it fell through). I refused to believe we were out of options, but as time went on and I still couldn't come up with a good solution, it just got too late in the year to even put the event together and the spring meet time came and went. Believe me, that was tough. There were a lot of great volunteers who helped pull off some truly amazing things to make these events happen and it was so awesome that as a group we could contribute to a local Make A Wish chapter. I've probably never worked harder on anything in my life or had something cause me so much stress, but damn I was proud of what we were able to do there.

It's exciting and inspiring to see how passionate you were about it, and obviously still feel about it. Mad respect, Bryan. From the outside, it definitely appeared to be an impossibly huge undertaking. It always makes me sad to hear about a few fools ruining it for the masses; that story repeats itself way too much in our culture.

I understand how much work must go into it. I held a weekly meet and getting everything set up for that with the cops and township was a big enough hassle in itself.

I just moved back into the area not that long ago so I don't really have my ear to the ground as far as local scene but I do know a few people who are involved.

quality > quantity

CF Charities does it.

cars and coffee does it (although, i do not think there is a charity aspect to them)

Elite Tuner does it.

Stanceworks (of whoever puts on black/FCF) even does it.

It took me 45 minutes to get to class only for the teacher to send an email out 2 minutes before the start that he wasn't coming. GG

Such a bummer to see what a ghost town TST became.

What are people driving nowadays?

I've contemplated getting into iRracing. I think it would be cool to have a VR set-up. I just don't take the time or the money but it seems cool.
