Allow me to introduce myself

I just found out about this site from another board I frequent. I'm 'mondo, a Mitsu-maniac that used to drive a 90 Talon AWD. Before that, I was a Subie-maniac that used to drive a 98 Impreza RS. Before that, I was a Honda-maniac that used to drive a 91 CRX Si. I have a new project that I'm working on which should be hitting the streets this spring and ready to tear it up over at Island dragway this summer.

Just wanted to pop in and say whassup.

I go to Island pretty frequently in the summer. Maybe I'll see you there. Whats the new project look like?

This is my '98 Impreza RS:

It was pretty much stock, when I bought it, there was very little aftermarket support for the 2.5 engines, and what little support there was was expensive. There was a turbo kit made by Minam [sp?] that cost around $5,500, but it was only good for 6 psi, and you still ran the risk of blowing up your engine. It was just the turbo, intercooler, piping, and that's it. No fmu, no injectors, or pump. Engine swaps cost just about as much, nobody wanted to tackle those because of the wiring harness work that had to be done. I think even if you knew the harness like the back of your hand it was still a 17 hour job to splice the harness from a JDM EJ20T to the US chasis.

This is my '90 Talon TSi AWD:

Rebuilt the engine with 8.5:1 CR pistons from a 95-99 DSM, small 16G turbo, rechipped the ECU, 650cc injectors, and a lot of other stuff. It was a helluva beast and I've learned more about engines, turbocharging, engine tuning, etc from this car than I did from anything else.

No pics of the CRX though. It was stock, but fun as hell. I wanted to do a ZC swap with it (back when I had it, B16 and B18 swaps were hella expensive). but I never got around to it. I had the most fun with that car, though. I used to take turns with that thing that I wouldn't even think of doing with the Subaru or Talon, and for 108 hp, it was zippy as hell.

I'll reveal the next project when I get it back home. Don't want to jinx myself out of not getting it yet...
