Nah, still just recirculated. These things are dumb in that everyone sticks with the MAF setup, even on the higher horsepower setups. I could certainly vent to atmosphere with a properly setup valve that closes quickly, and people do it and it works because the computer is adaptive enough to deal with it. However, I'll just stick to recirculation for now.

Forgot to upload these the other week. Some crumby pics in the driveway with the new VW Motorsport wheels. And also some from the garage while I was finishing the subframe collars/bushings last week.

I guess I never posted. I got it aligned and it was surprisingly not really out much. Also took it down to AP Tuning in Lebanon to get a United Motorsport haldex tune to make the AWD function better in all aspects, from being more efficient on the highway to more aggressive in performance and racing situations.

It never really ends, does it. My wideband has been erroring out almost nonstop. Been having a lot of misfires on the counter this spring. I put new plugs in it this winter which did nothing. Cylinder 5 has an excessive amount. I'm thinking at least that coil is on it's way out. I've got six new ignition coils on the way, along with more spare plugs. A new wideband sensor arrived yesterday. Also got a new fuel filter for good measure. Hopefully the coils are here this week and I can get it all taken care of this weekend. I've been finding it hard to give my cars any proper wrench time because I got a puppy last month (5mo old tomorrow) and she's consuming all of my time, attention, and patience.

Thanks, I hope I can. I'm having a hard time getting into the garage at all because I can't let her out of my sight - even if it's just roaming the garage while I'm working. She tries to eat just about anything that is laying around.

Anyway. Forgot to mention that the Jetta is being a pain in the ass with ABS/wheel speed sensors giving me ABS fits and dash lights and such. And I went to drive the Touareg last weekend after a couple weeks of sitting and it had a "system fault workshop" error. I went to scan it Monday or Tuesday and before I could get VCDS fired up, the battery died and locked my key in the ignition. I've been trickle charging it since. I'm THINKING that the system fault was low voltage, as it's not an uncommon system fault error on these things. I'm not positive, but I'd venture a guess that it's on the original battery as I don't have a service record of a replacement.

Funny (not funny). I've been dealing with a draining battery on my Touareg as well but I think I have a water drainage issue cause a voltage drain when it rains. I'm not sure a trickle charger will be enough to get the battery charged. They put out very small amps, you may actually be harming your trickle charger.

It came back to life and seems okay now. I scanned it and cleared all the modules and all seems well. I should probably get a battery but I don't want to dump money into it now. Too many heaps to spend money on lol. The touareg has exhaust leaks at the flex pipe on both sides and an occasional coolant leak at the alternator. The valve cover gaskets are also leaking pretty bad. And it needs tires. I knew all of this when I bought it back, but man I'm an idiot lol.

I have had the same exhaust leak. I replaced the passenger side already. Drivers is waiting to be installed. I used these guys because they are cheap, downpipe

One problem with them is the flange that bolts to the header (loose flange) doesn't have a matching taper for the pipe flare. I had to dremel in a flare to make it sit in a position where I could get nuts started on the stud.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads up. I was actually eyeing those up a couple weeks back.

I got some work done on the R32 both Saturday and last night. The car, a 2008, is sitting at 73,025 miles, roughly.

Saturday saw six new ignition coils, six new plugs, cleaned the MAF, and put a new wideband sensor in.
Last night I got the new fuel filter in place and filled up with fresh 93 and put a bottle of injector cleaner in.
I'm still getting some misfires on the computer. Cars are dumb.

All six ignition coils as well as the fuel filter were the originals, dated 2007. Honestly, I can't believe it. It's gotta be a record for VR6 coils, haha.

Lol, it's my buddy's car. One of the guy's that is in on our Miata. @toothless69 if you care to browse Instagram. It's a stock bottom end, cams, FP Green, E85 car. He and our other buddy with a built FP Red car, are both getting their E85 tunes at TPG May 4.

Yeah, it's not too bad. I think it's got roughly 90k on it, so the front is stone chipped pretty good. It suffers from the typical red fading, as well. But otherwise, it's in great shape. Definitely above the average, I'd say, than I see at the shootout.
