First event of the 2011 Philly Rally-X season: May 28th!

Yes, as in there's more than one this year. In fact:

Saturday May 28, Kempton Fairgrounds, Kempton, PA
Sunday July 24, Dover International Raceway, Dover, DE
Sunday August 21, Dover International Raceway, Dover, DE

Additional dates are in the works. The better the turnout at the first three, the more likely there'll be more. Hopefully a Grandview event in fall and a second Kempton one as well.

Registration for May 28 at Kempton is open:
http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...980708073447D0
Quote:
* 8am - 9:30am: Registration, Tech and Course Set-up
* 9:45am: Driver's Meeting
* 10:00am: First car off!
* 12:00noon: lunch
* 1:00pm: Resume runs
* ~4:30pm: Event finish and Cleanup
* ~5:00pm: Results & Awards

Note that it's weather dependent - unfortunately there's a chance of rain on Saturday. If you register and the event is canceled, a credit towards a future event will be issued.

Quote:
We plan on at least 6 runs and will try to set a 1 minute course. The event will be scored in rally format with all run times and cone penalties counting for the final score. This will be a run/work event. Every competitor must help work the event.

All SCCA National RallyCross classes will be included. The entry fee will be $50. All participants must be SCCA members. Fortunately SCCA has a weekend membership available for those of you that are non-members for $15. This fee is deducted from the cost of yearly membership, if you decide to go that route after the event.
Specific info here: http://www.phillyscca.com/courserally/index.html

This event is open to most cars in good, safe running condition. A few points:

-Extreme performance/summer tires are not permitted. All-seasons are okay, and of course so are snow tires and rally tires. No studs.

-Make sure your car isn't leaking any fluids and that the battery is well secured.

-Convertibles or T-tops must have hardtops installed.

-Pickups, jeeps and similar high-CG vehicles are discouraged but considered on a case-by-case basis, contact me with questions.

-AWD may be awesome, but is not required. We've had Integras, Caprices, Mustangs, Corollas, GTIs, etc show up. And they're not slow .

-Classes: Stock, Modified and Prepared, Front, Rear and All wheel drive, linked like so: Stock FWD (SF), Stock RWD(SR), Stock AWD(SA), PF/PR/PA, M2/M4. See Official Rallycross rules for details. Basically there's something for everyone.

Build? Just come on out. You need a baseline for the build, right?

Hope to see you there.

Bump, weather is looking good. The course should be a good mix of dirt, clay, gravel and grass.

Course is set. Nice mix of grass, dirt, stone and mud. I got a Miata through it, though not quickly

If anyone wants to come see what it's like, there's no charge to watch for a bit.
