The centercaps threw me off! My buddy runs Alpinas on his iX- I always assumed the 32s and the Alpinas were one in the same!

And right on, man, feels like only yesterday when I messaged you seeking E30 knowledge.

Yup, 32s with eBay Alpina caps. I actually had a person argue with me at a meet that they were Alpinas. You aren't the first one fooled. Haha. Got them from a guy with an e36 in Allentown.

I totally agree. I'm actually throwing blizzaks on them for Winter so I can throw some sticky tires on the Style 65. The paint isn't too nice anyway, so I doubt you'd want em.

eh, i just need wheels that fit in general and have a classic look. my brother bent all the wheels on his e46 and they leaked so bad that he needed to take the ASA bbs rk-ish knock offs off the car. so now I've got these silly 2004 rims on a older car. Im desperately trying for a set of style 5s. but i haz no monnies hahah

Bahah sounds about right. That classic look is key to complete the 'look', I'd say. Style 5s would be tits. I would look on eBay, and buy them one at a time. You can get a set for close to $200 doing it like that.

The iX got a Brad Penn oil change, Wix filter, and new IE Wires + OEM Plugs today. Made the car run 10x better. Now if only I can get the motivation to put a new fan in the car- the clutch is stuck on, sounds like an old Mack.

I love finding deals on overkill parts. Touring is gonna be all racecar'd out soon enough.

Edit:

Also, it does burnouts.....so there's that.

iX sold. Car needed too much work to get it where I wanted (body wise). New owner is doing the rust and paint repair and putting the RS' on. I will still be maintaining the car mechanically for him.

Now I want a 2002, and this popped up 10 minutes from me:

It went to a good friend who wanted it more than I. Two reasons you should be happy:

1) The car is still local, and I'm making him do a photo-op with you once it's all done.

2) This means I can buy tires for the Touring, thus resulting in alignment and completion.

Mmmm 200000000002. One of those cars that has always kept a high spot on my very long "cars to own" list. Glad the other one went to a bud and that its staying local. Touring is raddddd. Always better to overbuild, but I think I'm just stating what seems to be something we agree on.

I've ALWAYS wanted a 2002, in the same way that you have- I'm going to get one some day. I'm going to take a look at it, but I don't know if I'll take the plunge yet, as the reason for selling the E30 is to alleviate my 'too many projects' syndrome. I'm sure a 2002 would be more work than I could ever imagine.

And thanks dude. I'm pretty excited to throw some fatties on these wheels and get it on the road. I think it's going to be a blast to daily.

It barely takes any more money (if any) to get the next tier of parts but it really pays off in the long run, as you know. I could've had stock struts/springs for the same price as the Billys. I could've gotten stock vs HD subframe bushings for the same price. Stock rotors were more than the Brembos. OEM pads more than the Bosch pads. Etc. If you're gonna put money into these old ****boxes you have to buy quality parts or else they don't every make that jump from ****box to cool daily.
