Anybody ever try it? I have to do it a lot for work for our website and catalog. It's a nice break from the norm, but it's definitely a pain sometimes.

I'm open for criticism / suggestions since I have to do it so often. Here are a few I took:

are you using one of those light boxes? Personally i like the ones with shadows;3,5,7 It gives the subject a grounding point. Also a bit more DOF would be nice.

I agree with grimm, 3,5, and 7 look better. the others look as though they were almost photoshopped so there was nothing around them. Good work!

Does this mean I'm gonna have to redo your Manley banners? haha

I see what you guys are saying. I really didn't want the shadows in the pictures with the valve standing up because the shadow was really long, so I chopped it out. Some of them I just thought looked really bad with the shadows. I'll look to see if I have the originals on this computer and post them up to show you.

I have a light box, but did not use it. I didn't like it, but I'm sure it's just the one I have. I ended up using posterboard.

No. I finally taught myself how to make gifs!

I remember seeing pictures on here that Troll took of a turbo in that style.

Yeah, him and I had a discussion on this. He took those at the same time I started taking these types of pictures.

I think small subtle shadows would be ideal. helps define the form better.
