My dad got sick and tired of owning a new Z4 and not wanting to rip it apart and add a bunch of parts without blowing the warranty so he asked me to locate him a Z3 M coupe. So that's what I did. And it just so happens I found him a SICK one down in Wilmington, NC. After speaking to the owner for about a week via email and over the phone, he confirmed it was well worth the drive. So Friday we left Binghamton super early in the morning and drove 13 hours to our room in Wilmington. The next morning we picked the car up and drove back. And HERE is the fuit of our labor...

These are the seller's pictures as we haven't had a chance to take any of our own...since we just back last night at 11pm.

Now I clearly need to step up my game with my M3.

They have an odd side profile, but the rear end and interior look great. Would love to own one.

The non-M Z3 coupes seem to run anywhere from $9k up to $24k...depending on the motor, mileage and condition. The M coupes came with one of two motors depending on the year. The '99/'00 came with the S52 motor which is the 3.2L motor that comes in the e36 M3 (this is the one we picked up). They seem to start at around $18k and go up from there. The '01/'02's came with the S54 motor which is the 3.2L that came out of the e46 M3. Those start at even higher than the S52's. Either way however, there weren't many M coupes made at all (a grand total of 2000 S52 M coupes if I remember correctly) for the US.

Now granted deals can be had. So don't think you can't pick up a sweet car for less than I mentioned. I was just trying to give a rough idea.

And just to put into perspective, we got a ridiculous deal on ours. Even with all the money invested in it, we only paid a small amount more than what the S52 M coupes start at...you just have to continuously look, be patient and be willing to travel if need be.
