Tint tickets in Freehold Township

I have a mandatory court appearance for it and want to weigh my options.

Does anyone know for sure what they do? I would assume they'll poke their head out the door and see no tint on the car and go okay now pay court fees.
I have no problem paying the ticket and court fees but want to see what happens if I dont take the tint off.

Can they order me back and repeat the process? Will they come out to examine the car, checking VINs and such? I need to know how much time I'm going to waste at court for this.

I've gotten them in neighboring towns but never had to appear in court. Do I even need to bring THIS car?

Just dont want to pull tint, have them not even check the car and drive 2+ hours round trip to SOG to have em redone spending more in gas than what they'll charge to redo it.

Any input is appreciated

No they wont check the car. Youll go in and itll be just like when you pay it normal, its just what the officer checked. I had one before and didnt understand why I had to go so when I got there they just made me pay the ticket like normal.

Same thing to me - first tint ticket ever and they had a mandatory court appearance. They never even checked the car.

I googled freehold tint tickets and your TST story from years ago popped up. I was wondering what happened...you just went in to pay. Did they even ask if it was removed?

They dont care if its removed, theyll just keep giving you tickets and make money for the township. If you wanted to get out of the ticket then it would be the officers decision to dismiss it if you showed proof of removal. If you dont want to remove it just pay the ticket when you get to the hearing, no big deal, theyre only 54 dollars. Ive always just payed mine and left my tint on.

you aren't obligated to bring your car to the court. you can leave it on and continue getting ticketed, or take it off - that's up to you.

Tint isn't a primary offense or whatever it's called anymore, is it? Can they solely pull you over just for tint?

Oh yes they can and did - and realistically they can do almost anything

I didn't even make it to the court, Prosecutor said did you take it off? I said yes I did and what proof do you need it's removed? He said don't worry about it you can go.

No court fees, no charge, no nothing, just a waste of my time. This was the town of Evesham.

I tried that - as I am legitimately sensative to bright lights, and he said I'd have to pay for the test and be deemed to need the tint to drive safely. He said very few people ACTUALLY get this done.

I got it done with no problems. I've had the tag already for 6 out of 8 years.

I filled out the form, went to my eye doctor and he filled it out. Sent it off to the dmv and 6-8 weeks later had my tags.

I know about this first hand. In my dept we do pull over for tint, but no guy I work with makes it mandatory...that's lame. Anyways people do come in and get the tickets dropped if they show it's removed. My prosecutor is cool like that. In terms of the "Eye doctor's note," I'm no dummy and can read when people try that on me. The one from the DMV states nothing more than 60 or 70%, don't quote me on the exact amount. We all know that is barely anything. Most people who get tint get it in the 0-30% range. Thats my take on it, but I work with cool guys who don't bust balls

If someone is pushing 30% are you less likely to initiate a traffic stop?

No way of telling. All depends how I'm feeling or what's going on at that exact moment. Sorry, no science to my job lol

I always tell people that it's an obvious violation and a reason to get stopped. So if you had 1 or 10 drinks you are always at risk of getting pulled over, which isn't a good thing.

2½ hours of waiting got me a $70 fine after telling them it was removed. No one came to check. I believe one person who also had it removed, had $20 less of a fine. The others who still had it on had to show it was off within a week via picture or showing up to have it inspected.
