right now you 2 are putting roughly the same whp down ~160whp, he's lighter and longer gear ratio's so hes in boost much with a bigger turbo that doesn't run out of steam 700rpm-1k rpm before redline, and you just end up having to shift more in you're 6spd causing you to build boost again...I'd give the W to spock as it stands but it'd be close i'll give you that. anything more than 8-10 and you won't stand a chance.

Damn Mike, that bites. Probbably easier just to source a used 1.8, they are only a few hundred bucks and typically run very strong. Do you know why it went?

i don't think he wants a 1.8 he'd a new turbo manifold, and couldn't reuse the HEad he has, or the MSPNP, it'd be a lot to replace just for that. 1.6's are pretty reliable and they are really cheap.

I have no experience with the 1.6 but I remember before I even got mine I was researching and people said the 1.8 is a little stronger, then again, hard to really measure this. I thought spock had switched to a 1.8 after the first motor went.

1.8 makes more power overall, 1.6 is more rev happy. and nope he's still 1.6 lol i've picked up a 1.6 for $200 motor trans and other miscellaneous parts thrown in lol

1.6L or 1.8L, they suck either way. 1.6L's are cheaper.

Not sure what I'm going to do yet, picking up another car to drive first.
