That is the kind of coach I would want if I played for a sports team like that. For him to stand up to the media like that shows how much he cares about his players.

This needs to be one of those Coors post game coaches interview commercials ASAP.

I'd imagine it would start something like this

Reporter: "Coach, I heard that Coors Light is a terrible beer?"
Coach: ...

One of the head people in college football said he did the wrong thing and was disrespectful to the media (which I think is B.S). He did what he felt was needed to be done.

I think he did the right thing. The media is scum whether it's sports media, tabloid media, etc. I would've done the same thing if I were him and I give him props for doing this. It's about time someone slapped the media bitches around a bit.

What I think is even more badass is that the next day in a phone interview, he said something along the lines of, "I'm not sorry, I meant every word of it. I just wished I had more time to prepare to write a more well written statement to cover other issues."

That was his point, they were harrassing a kid, his not a pro athlete. And he wanted to know why they would kick him when he was down.

I agree with the coach and would be proud to play for him. A good leader protects his troops.
