So i got this sweet mazdaspeed3 with 53k miles on it last may and loved it so much. i put some money into it but straight drove the piss outta it cant deny that. so at 84k miles on march 19th my motor went while cruisin on 95. towed it to 3 different shops, then finally decided it would stay at bissys. it was there for a few weeks till my mom (love of my life) decided that we should just put a new motor in. tried an insurence claim, but nah. so jim found a great 2010 motor with only 4k miles on it and the turbo! So now my cars been there for a while and were preparing it to be perfect. Got a new stage 2 clutch and sent the flywheel out to be resurfaced. Also gettin a control arm thats bent fixed too.

theres the story, heres the build.
2007 mazdaspeed 3
84k on chassis, 4k oon motor and turbo

current mods:
cobb sri
cobb turbo inlet
test pipe w/ 3inch back
bc coilovers
turbosmart bov

Sitting in room:
18x9 rota g-force wheels (gold)
--running on a 215/45 pzero nero
downpipe with new test pipe

plans:
cobb accessport
fmic
GT3071

first im gonna stance the car to perfection. yes my tires will be stretched, yes it may be a little more form>function, but ill do the turbo build in summer after graduation. on stock internals with a safe tune i know i can roughly get mid 300s to the wheels which is my goal.

this is going to be a slow build for the turbo but i promised there will be another stanced speed3 roaming around the 215 in no time ;)

I will put pictures up as soon as i get the car back....

everyone i've ever known with a mazdaspeed 3/6 have blown their motor. is there anyway to prevent that from happening again? none of them had any crazy mods other than bolt on's and a reflash. good luck with your car, it should look sick

i know man, theres literally a section on mazdaspeedforums for just blown motors. im just gonna get good motor mounts and use the accessport to monitor everything. and not beat the hell outta the car. but like my friend tom has gone through 3 trans', seb (c-bass) just had his turbo go...idk there fun to drive and a good car just may not be the most reliable.

and yaa pics will be up once i get the car.

i really want the car stanced and ready for sonic but it all depends how quickly i can get it all ready

Make sure you upgrade your fuel pump. I'm going to Hamilton Mazda to get my trans fixed before 60k. Let me know if you need help with anything

im very skeptical about what to do as far as plans cause i dont feel like going through this again, but luckly my grandma gave me a 1996 altima with 28k miles on it lol. florida car no rust it sat at one of our houses. just got the car today so mint.

This and a fuel pump, good street tune with wideband and then tweaking on a dyno.

BTW mx- A friend of mine locally was just here checking out your thread on my account he said when you get it running he will street tune it for ya if you want.

Hes got the same type of mazdaspeed as you running a 3071R makes ridiculous horsepower. Last i heard it dyno'd over 4xx

Seriously ask other MSP owners who they have tune it, and spend the cash for the best tune. Bad tunes kill any car.
