There are MUCH more accurate forecasts out there than your local news channels. You just have to pay for them. The local weather channels have been wrong on EVERY single storm so far this year, with "Hurricane Shwartz" being the most accurate thus far. Mt Holly has probably had the best "free" forecasts so far this year, but they have always been on the conservative side of how much accumulation we actually got.

Try Stormvista.

Anyone looking to drive either a skid steer or a truck next year in the maple glen area? They are both new, up to $30/hour cash paid immediately after the storm.

I have my cdl class a and can def operate a skid steer.. Let me know whenever u need help. I have plow experience

HA! ABC just changed it to 6-10" for the entire I-95 corridor. Maybe c0nfl1kt meant that they are good at measuring total snowfall accumulations once it hits the ground, not forecasting.

I'll certainly keep you in mind for next season and shoot you a PM come october, and if you know anyone else let me know. It's a 4 hour minimum, and I might be able to arrange pick-up/drop off if you don't have a good winter car. It's my personal equipment, all you have to do is take it easy and stay the hours. So far this season, I have almost 80 hours in, mostly nighttime and weekend hours not cutting in to my normal work.

You don't need a CDL, so no worries. The closer you are to Maple Glen/Spring House the better though.

we have the exact opposite problem here. they'll predict 2-4 inches overnight and it'll dump 20 all into the next day. go figure.

These forecasts are only as good as powerful as their computers are. They are running the models, after all.

Up till 2am when I went to bed last night the weather prediction was for rain to start around noon today. Now at 8am I look out the window and there's an inch of snow on the ground already and falling steady. So much for the arrangements I made to get the Supra down to the auto show a day early this morning to beat the weather :/. So now the question is... hurry up and take it now, or wait and take it tomorrow?

Yea, they really screwed this one up. Not sure why my job is even open. The parking lot as 2+ inches of snow on it and hasn't been cleared. The sidewalks haven't even been cleared yet either. Thank god I hitched a ride because I don't want some retard with a shovel near my car when they do eventually clear it since they can't plow with the cars in the way.

I'm also angry about my 2.5 hour ride on 422. No accidents but that slow. Man, even with snow it should still move a bit faster then that.

yeah, i got that text from Montco too. I'm glad I have night classes and I wasn't in the same boat as a lot of my friends were - walking to class getting that text.

wasn't expecting to wake up to 4 inches of snow on the ground in my area. took me an hour and 15 minutes to drive the 20 minute drive in to work. no roads were plowed. didn't even look like anything was treated. got to work, getting my laptop and then going home for the rest of the day. yay.
