Good lord someone has too much money to spend!

If you're gonna do all that, you need to go RWD too. That thing is NEVER going to get traction.

im pretty sure, yes thats an ek.

would this be the first normally RWD motor dropped in a civic and used for FWD? this looks like some serious work. Id love to see this when they get it running. I love the sound of a nasty rotary.

Nah, theres a civic out there with a corvette LS1 swapped into it with RWD lol. That is some serious work though.

1996 hatchback, definitely an EK. You can tell by the headlight holes in the radiator support.

Definitely some serious work. All custom mounts, a custom transmission conversion bracket for the Kseries trans, all custom piping/turbo/exhaust, looks like custom rotors/hubs/knuckles/etc. Straight up, this is 100% custom modified and built by from the firewall up as far as drivetrain/suspension goes.

All for not I'm afraid though, like I said, this car is just never gonna stick. 350whp is too much for traction till late 3rd gear, forget anything more.

I don't know much about civics, and I don't know much about rotaries... but I know enough to say that doing such a crazy 'swap' such as this they should have spent the extra money and made it rwd...

such a shame... I can just imagine everyones face at shows and the drag strip when someone asks, "Its still fwd?"

Thats still pretty sweet though. A rotary Civic. Like people have said before, it should be made into a rwd rotary civic, that would be just bad ass.

heat is the biggest enemy, they run hot naturally, and they sure dont like it...they run very rich by designt o help combat this heat. they r very bad with "thermal efficiency" as in, a lot of heat is wasted away instead of making exhaust pressure....every engine has its ups and downs, thermal efficency is one of its downs

....adding a turbo makes matters worse...and thats a big turbo too.....so they have a radiator thats half as wide as oem but twice as thick...so its like runnin an oem radiator on a single turbo 400 whp rotary....ummmm they clearly arent rotary guys first and honda guys second, bc if they were rotary guys theyd had the biggest radiator they could find. only honda geeks get away with baby sized radiators on their 1.6l's

sounds to me like they were honda guys that got drunk one night and said "wouldnt it be cool if...."

FYI, that radiator is stock size, as in he's not using a "half sized" radiator. For a Honda, that is full sized, where the turbo is is where the AC condenser is.

I'm not disagreeing that he may have cooling problems, but there isn't any room for a full sized rad.

Oh, and I'm very sorry that Honda's only need a half rad for cooling, as it seems to upset you so.

I'm pretty knowledgable with rotaries....heat, fueling, and ignorant owners are the big rotary killers.

Since he did all that fabbing, he could have toyed with the idea of a v-mounted set up.

Do... you... know how a radiator works?

Only place I can maybe see another possibility for that turbo to go is up behind the transmission. I however don't have a good look at the space they have to work with so I have no idea if that's even feasable or not.

Sidenote: That dude has so many damn Vband clamps in that car!
