The pads in the knee area. Here is how the bike is looking for now, started to mod it a bit.

It fit through a glass sliding door, not sure if it would fit through a regular door, but probably, lol.

You're not being a dick. A CBR600RR is a disgustingly fast race machine. I've been track riding for 3 years and I still don't get why people buy them for street use, I can ride my SV *WAY* faster than I ever should on the street while paying way less insurance and 99% less attention from the cops.

That being said, I'm all for having nice toys. Just respect the HELL out of it.

I had an 05f4i before my 1k. I should of never traded it in. The 1k is awesome but its so overkill for street use. About the only thing I prefer my 1k over my f4i in is highway riding. I wanna pick up another f4i in he near future.

Edit: at the same time.... the 1k is such a monster haha

We can argue a 500hp car is stupid for the streets to... but we still build and buy them

Yes, but do you put a 500hp car into the hands of a 16 year old who's never driven before?

Is he 16 jumping on a CBR600RR. or is he an experienced driver who just bought his first bike? Just take the safety coarse, and then the advanced coarse, and take it easy, get used to the bike, avoid traffic for a while. Also ride with someone who is more experienced and let them lead off for a while.

You're not being a dick, just making sure a member is being safe. I mod for the sake of modding, I enjoy it and its a hobby, i don't mod to be the fastest thing on the roads. Plus, the only go fast goody i have is the exhaust, which I got for a hell of a deal.

I took the basic msf course, so hopefully it helps.

Insurance on the 600rr isn't that bad, I pay $289 a year for full coverage with 100/300/100 liability with comprehensive and collision with $500 deductible.

I don't have a 500hp street car, more like 400 on a good day, lol. I'm not 16 either, lol.

Here is my gear so far:

Everything laid out

Also, the jacket seems short, but the sleeve length is perfect, and my helmet looks big, but I did the test for fitting it, and it passes, just looks big, is that normal? Its only a medium. Also, any recommendations to do for the leather jacket, gloves and stuff before riding, like conditioners or whatever?

The helmet is gonna feel big...But as long as it's snug on your face and doesn't move around...then your good. Same thing with the jacket, this isnt fashion clothing...its riding gear, your in a sitting position when you ride so it will actually settle down a little when your actually on the bike. And it looks funny b/c your wearing a long t shirt but if you had on leather pants it would look normal...Kinda hard to explain, but I hope you catch my drift.

P.s. Exhaust doesnt do anything but add sound on a bike...so its not really much of a "performance" mod...lol

Gear looks good. I don't usually go for white because it gets dirty easily, but that's just me.

Don't forget to order pants, preferably the type that zip into your jacket.

Haha, kind of the point isn't it? Gear looks good man, and +1 on riding pants. I have a set of alpinestar cargo's that I got for like $100 and I love riding in them. They're just so comfortable. Honestly my balls get squished when I wear jeans and I always feel like I have a mega wedgie, but I only wear jeans when I go to school, it's mostly just traffic anyway.

I just got done ordering this. Want to switch to leathers this year.

a slip-on adds power. not a large amount by any means, but it adds power. full systems with programming have netted very impressive gains. Some of the 1krr guys have seen 12+whp gains with quality systems like my arata or akroprovic.

Gear looks good man. imma nab myself a leather alpine star jacket this season as well!

Thanks for all the assistance guys! I can't wait to start riding. Is there ever a big TST bike gathering?

I originally wanted a white bike, but I got such a deal on the red, that I had to get it. My reasoning for the white gear is it should help visibility, and if I ever rash up my fairings, I could always get white ones and match, lol.

SovXietday those a* looks sick, they look like from the new 2011 line.

My school is a 20 minute walk, so like, 5 minute ride. I don't have a problem putting everything on except the back protector and chest protector, and its not even putting it on, its taking it off. I will probably order a forcefield ce level 2 insert and rs-taichi chest protector that attaches to the jacket for school and short rides, and use the back and chest protector for longer rides.

Nice to see a new rider so eager to wear his gear.

Got any plans to learn to ride? (tracktime?) You'll learn soooo much in just one weekend.
