So I want to detail my car, Here's what I got...
I have these products laying around my house, I want to do the best detail I can with just these(I have all terry and microfiber clothes). What would you detailers recommend I use in which order?? My car has a few light scratches that I would like to fix up to mostly just clear coat scratches. |

Get a claybar kit first and start with that, it will give you a really good base to work with, Meguires soap (purple/pink stuff) works really well) then I'd go over any scratches with the scratch cleaner, then hit it all with the cleaner way, then get a polisher (Meguires makes one) then 2 really good coats of wax. Then I wash it the next day and hit it with a detailer.
But thats just how I do, if your paints already really clean then start with the paint cleaner. |

I am trying to use the stuff I already got, I am thinking to use these in this order.
1) the liquid clay bar 2)focus on scratches, but I have the two turtle wax compounds and the 3m scratch remover, the nufinish scratch remover and I also found a mothers scratch remover, I am not sure which one to use and what step I should use them in. 3)Mother's cleaner wax 4)Then use the regular wax as the last step, but I am again unsure whether to use the Turtle wax, Mothers carnuba, the paint sealer, or the Black magic |

Few things here, if you want to properly detail the car with the best results
You're going to need an actual clay bar kit, liquid clay bar isn't worth anything Get a polish/glaze to apply to the car BEFORE the wax Get some microfiber applicator pads, you're wasting your time trying to apply it with terry/microfiber cloths. That's just a small start and about 20 bucks worth of stuff.

This is what I learned from washing/cleaning my car on a weekly basis (I’m obsessive, okay? :D) I have about 6 different waxes, 4 different washes, three different scratch removers and I can probably make a quilt from all the applicators/towels I have. I am by no means a person that is good at washing their car.. I just do it a lot and I found this works this best.
- Get a real clay bar. Liquid clay bars just smell pretty. - Use synthetic wax. Carnauba is nice and all, but it last on average ~30 days and has a really low melting point while synthetic last quit sometime longer. - When I get lazy, I buy turtle wax wash that is a wash/wax in both. Surprisingly this makes my car a really deep blue and looks great. I don’t know if there is a specific order, but when I “detail (if you can call it that)” my car I go like this: Outside: - Wash - Claybar - Wash - Polish - Wax Inside: - 303 Aerospace (Dash/Vinyl/Plastic) - Vacuum and pressure wash floor mats - Vacuum seats and floors - Hit interior with fabreeze I still don’t know a good way to clean suede from the STi seats…
