My 2001 Pontiac Trans-Am WS6 build.....

Well I know im kinda the odd man out on this site as it is mostly run by imports here, but what the hell I will throw one of these up anyway.

Here is my 2001 Pontiac Trans-Am WS6, I bought this car back last March. I bought it over a few other cars I was looking at. I was dying to buy a 1994-1999 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 as I owned an N/A 1995 3000GT prior. I was about to purchase a MINT 1996 VR4 but decided to keep my options open and check out some other types of cars. Here is the VR4 I was about to buy:

Next I looked at a 2000 Firebird Formula, I didn't buy it because if I was going to buy a Firebird/Camaro I really, really wanted T-Tops and thi was a hardtop. I also wanted a leather interior:

Next I was about to purchase a different Formula, but this one with more options and alot cleaner. I actually left a deposit on this car but the seller was very lazy and would refuse to meet anywhere for anything. I was not able to drive 2 hours to Philly all the time and this guy drive a couple of minutes. So after alot of debate I passed on this one too:

After I passed on that last Formula I was very pissed off and angry as I needed a car and just coulden't find the "right" one. So I was searching and searching ALL over for a Forumla or Trans-Am (by this time I was set on getting one). I then found a little tiny listing for a "2001 Firebird Formula Trans-Am" for sale. So next morning I called up the dealer. I asked what exactly it is they had as its either a Formula or a Trans-Am. They then informed me it was indeed a 2001 Trans-Am WS6...EXACTLY what I wanted but I didn't think I had the funds for one as they are a "higher end" model. I called them back later that day and told them I would be down to see it in a few days. I went down and looked at it...EXTREMELY nice car, clean, everything I wanted. Needless to say I left a deposit on it. Here is at the first day I saw it at the dealer:

And as an added surprise to me it even had a custom leather interior!

Here is the first day I got it home, only things it had done to it was SLP Loudmouth exhaust and SLP Lid

Well the first thing I did was go out and buy some winter rims/tires for it, because at the time I did not have a beater car and thought I would somehow have to drive it through the next winter..also picked up some giant slicks at a swap meet lol:

Well soon after purchasing the slicks me and a few friends headed to the track (Island) to see what it could do. We did 1 run on street tires and then put the slicks on. My first run ever in this car I ran 13.6 I believe at 107 maybe. Here is waiting to run after putting the slicks on:

Well those slicks were a bit too much on a mosty stock car on a stock rear and driveshaft so this is how I got home:

As I was burning out warming up the tires I heard a loud snap and tons of **** smashing around under the car. I was scared ****less, turns out I snapped the aluminum driveshaft..thank God not the rear:

So needless to say I then sold the slicks. Here are somemore pics I took after cleaning her up a bit:

Some at a local show and also my new license plate frame haha

I then removed the dealer sticker from the back...I have no idea why I didn't do it sooner:

A little while later we tried to take some pics of the Trans-Am in action:

And another pic of her clean

Here she is lined up with some supercars...and man does she look like a boat compared to them!

And just somemore pics:

And my next little "mod" lol...black Pontiac inserts:

And after the rear inserts came the black bird and a sticker from Streetfire.net I got for free since I am a senior member there:

I then decided it was time to mod the car somemore with actual performance stuff. I found a great deal on some Pacesetter Quicktrip Ceramic Coated Long Tube Headers:

Next came the short-throw shifter from WS6Store

Stock:

Short:

I was not able to get the headers on for a while so in the mean time I just enjoyed the car:

Then in August I took the car on vacation with me and a bucnh of friends to Wildwood:

Then somewhere in that timeframe I also picked up a Pacesetter Off-Road Y-Pipe to match to my headers, and finally installed them:

F-Body cruise:

Just random pics:

Then on Oct. 19 I attended a dyno day that some other members on here attended. I was very impressed with my results and put down 360RWHP and 365 ft. lbs.

I then did the CETA mod to the car (pained rear portion of bumper black like the 2002 T/A Collectors Edition had)

And here is how she looked the day I pulled her off the road for this winter (I was able to because I ended up buying another car for bad weather...a 94 Ford Probe GT:

But before I pulled her off the road I had to show some Christmas Spirit!

And some parts I recently bought:

BMR Subframe Connectors:

And my big winter project....Texas-Speed MS3 Cam with dual valvesprings and chromolly pushrods...in the process of being installed now!

When she comes back out this spring it should be putting down over 400RWHP....I will update this thread as work goes on!

Anyway. I just wanted to man up and apologize for what I did. I was a complete @$$hole. I talked to John today, and told him I was WAY out of line. He and you guys had every right to be mad at me, and what I did/said. Truth be told, I feel really bad about it; as I should. Again man, im sorry for what I said. Just uncalled for, and plain out wrong.

Yeah it had alot of cardboard in it. I put a steel one in. A little heavier but alot stronger...also at the time I didn't have a beater car and needed the car back ASAP so I had to buy what I found.
