i just got several text messages at work too...this is sad. I'm going to the game Friday which I believe the first home game after this road stint in Washington. I'm sure they'll do something. I also heard the Phillies cancelled their White House visit.

Sad day...most of us grew up hearing this voice. Harry was one of those people, as soon as he opened his mouth you knew who was speaking.

In all seriousness, any way we can get one? I understand you want "hits" in this thread (esp. considering they've done terribly), but this man was not just the voice of the Phils, but of a region and an era. If that doesn't deserve its own recognition, then I don't know what does.

I was a friend of Harry. He did most of his work with our company (NFL Films) and I will miss him terribly. RIP Harry

He was a human being who will be remembered by a whole lot of people and became the phillies voice we all know and loved. He didn't play the game as a phil when he passed so why would you close his "rip" thread. That's just ignorant.

theres one moment that i will never forget. thats him calling the last pitch of game five on the world series. Just absolutly terrible. I heard where and when it happen and i dont think he would have want to go out any other way then where he was. RIP harry. Watch over them phils!!

I listened to the whole game yesterday on the radio at work and LA could not even call the game he was so upset. It will never be the same without him! Im going to the memorial service this saturday down at the ballpark then might get tiks for the game that night.
