Went for a nice fall cruise today

Got home and tore down an ND1 diff that had an OS Giken LSD installed. Reinstalled the stock diff into the ND1 pumpkin. The OS Giken LSD will go into an ND2 pumpkin and then get swapped into my car

I've driven them with the Giken before. It's tuned to behave essentially like a stock diff that's more consistent and a little bit more aggressive. Because of the negative preload on the diff, it's pretty "free" as far as LSDs go, not that the Miata has tons of power to need a lot of lockup anyway.

I'm hoping it helps a few little setup annoyances

Man, STR is the best. I pulled off a first in PAX and third in raw, only behind an SM car and a DSP car (both much faster classes that SHOULD be faster than me in raw time)

Swapped to an OS Giken diff Bit under 4 hours of work time, mostly by myself. Had my dad help with the jack while I was dropping and reinstalling the subframe.

Looks like you made quick work of that! BTW, I have that same jack. It's a great bargain for what it is.

Yes it is! Heavy as all hell and obviously not the best as a transmission jack, but whatever, haha.

Well... the ultimate STR/street use Miata maybe. I don't *want* to do seats and such, but may go that way.

I have some more simple mods this winter, details forthcoming...

Currently working with my tuner on finally tuning my car too

Im interested to hear what you think of the GIken and how much tuning you do to it along the way. How is it set-up now?

So far it's nice on the street. No feedback from an autocross yet, obviously

It does diff things, seems a little smoother than stock, especially in tight turns. Makes more noise though, meh. Drifts intersections nicely and the uphill on camber then off camber turn onto my street was way easier to take sideways with no sudden snappy drama that the stock diff did.

There's a few spots where my car three wheels at slow speed on my commute and the diff still unloads just about the same, but the Giken has negative preload so it engages super smoothly.

The Giken is tuned to behave a lot like stock ND diff, but a little more aggressively on accel and more consistently than stock. Stock diff sometimes grabs nicely and sometimes not.

Installed the Aurora Auto Designs lowering rails on my Recaros. Quite a job... but well worth it, now I can wear a helmet and fit under the roof and I'm 6'4" tall

Today I installed the Flyin' Miata sequential turn signals that my brother gifted to me.

Those turn signals are nice! Also, I wish I was taller 80% of the time, with the exception of being happy I don’t have to deal with vehicle fitment issues

Glad someone makes lowering rails. I’ve always heard the Miata is oddly roomy for such a small car. I know some tall folks who drive them, but I have never so much as even sat in one.

I'm 6'4" and was plenty comfortable on the street. This is just better and I can now wear a helmet under the top easily

I've driven NA/NB, but never an NC. I don't fit in an NC with the retractable hard top, I know that much.
