I went autocrossing today in the BRZ. I was really off the pace, no idea why. I even went off course, which I'm not too sure I've done before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJTwhafsBtM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XuFjcqTkpmw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiLicZWCUNg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn98nJoBDqU |

After prepping the GTI for autocross tomorrow I threw my new catback on the BRZ... Sounds pretty awesome, IMO

Track day, bro! Not in the GTI though I'm at Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point Motorsports Park, in West Virginia. What a beautiful facility! I'm here with Trackdaze, which so far has been an amazing organizer. My instructor is fantastic, really egging me on and giving me great guidance.
From the bridge into the track: You can see the Karussell (dimensional copy of the one on the Nurburgring) in the background here. What an awesome corner, you can really haul through it due to the banking. Carbotech XP10s have gotten a wee bit hot Day one is in the books. Going back for another four 30 minute sessions tomorrow. Though I might skip the last session, depends how tired I'm feeling. |

These arrived last week... Missing the top hats thanks to some confusion from MAPerformance :awesome: So I sent them back to Ohlins and I'm waiting for MAP to take the d*ck out of their nose and have Ohlins ship me the correct stuff.
+20hp! Amazing quality compared to anything I've had before |

I completely ruined a front sway bar end link.
I got my front coilovers on at least. Quite a bit of rake until I get the rears on, hopefully tomorrow. -2.5 degrees of front camber with OEM fitment wheels and winter tires looks atrocious, for the record. |

I finished installing my Ohlins today and aligned the car. -2.5 camber up front (Might bump it to -2.8 or something, depends how my tires wear) and -2.0 in the rear. About 1/32" toe in front and rear. Set the dampers to 15 clicks front and rear and took it for a few short drives. For being so much stiffer springs than stock (I'm using 60N/mm front and 70N/mm rear. Ohlins provided 60N/mm all around) the ride is sublime. WAY better than the KWs on my GTI. I'm excited to get some miles on them now
No pics yet, I finished up pretty late. The car is sitting pretty much an inch lower than stock. I'm 1mm from running out of adjustment in the rear. The new rear springs being so much stiffer meant I had to lower the back ~8.5mm which puts the height adjustment nearly bottom out. Also, the car looks hilariously bad with that much camber and terrible offset wheels... |

My car is filthy as it's been raining for something like ten days straight and it was too cold to bother washing it today, sorry
Alignment specs right now are -2.6* camber up front and -1.9* in the rear. 1/32" of toe in front/rear (wandered too much on my winter tires with 0 toe). The front has settled to 25 1/8" fender to ground, rear is 25 1/2". I think I'll raise the front a bit to 25 1/4" after it finishes settling 100%. I was at 15 clicks on the coilovers, I set to 12/13 front/rear. That seemed to get rid of a bit of the choppiness over little bumps, the Ohlins ride a lot like stock, but a bit more controlled. They definitely have less travel though, which sucks on crappy Pennsylvania roads. |
