Looks good. I take it you just overlayed the origional parts with c/f material and just cleared it, or did you use resin? How does everything fit up now with the added thickness of the c/f?

Its wrapped as the title says. And I use resin, you can't just clear cf. Fitment will be perfect. There was enough gap so I didn't need to worry. Usually I need to shave a bit of the plastic for fitment to b right though.
Its not a short process. Each layer of resin takes 8 hrs to cure and I use about 4-5 layers total.

Can i ask where you got the resin from? .. what brand resin for that matter .. and im taking it you let each layer fully cure... sand it down smooth... then relayer it?
ive got A L O T of carbon fiber sitting at home, but just cant seem to find any decent resins around here that arnt slightly yellow, or just plain out DONT HARDEN.. stupid art store..(Laminating polyester resin) You do the resin laying in a basement / garage? wondering how much humidity of my basement could be messing up the resin. Thanks :D

I can't tell you where I get my resin. But I can tell you to use an epoxy resin rather than polyester. And after the absorbing layer I add at least 2 flood layers before sanding. All good resins are slightly yellow but wont look yellow when applied and sanded.
I have a 2 family house and use the empty side apartment for my projects. I keep it at 80 degrees with less than 50% humidity. If temps r lower than 70 or higher than 90 the epoxy can have a problem curing

Appreciate the temp advice, and your basically just layering on the CF, and putting on a very thin layer to just wet it, then floor layering? Do you use a thickining agent in the Epoxy that you got, or do you just build up a layer on it till it just drips off the sides? Thanks :D

I just installed it this morning. I'll post pics soon.
lol. I'm guessing others have withheld info too. Quote:
No alteration of viscosity is needed. Layers are built up slowely until sandable.

very very nice.. did you take the carbon right up to the edge or wrap it around back.. looks like you took it just up to the edge for fitmit reasons.. was thinking of doing this to the shift surround on my car but dunno how it would fit after the CF is on it

some areas i did shave it for fitment. Most areas are wrapped around though. the shift surround is tricky so i have never done it
