Cobb's 08+ STi cat-back is out - but is $1200!

I had a full cobb TBD On my 04 STi and longed for when they came out with the complete set up for the 08.

Cobb just released the new cat back but that alone is $1200! Pretty nuts huh?

Over hyped and over priced exhaust are a pet peeve of mine. I would never pay 1200 for that. If you gotta have it, wait for a used one to pop up. Its bound to happen.

That's why I never liked cobb. Way to expensive and you can usually get the same thing with the same type of quality. I used to love it before wrxs even came out when all they'd do was just rebrand other companies and call it their own. lol

Cobb can suck my left nut for that price. I'm sure the one that jesse posted up "fujito" cost about the same and looks to be better quality.

Okay I just have to say, this ^^^ is not necessary for a 4 cylinder especially when it goes from a single pipe and just splits at the muffler like that.

^^^ Simplicity is efficient and works the best and theres nothing "poser" about it.

Cars like ferraris that actually have a function in their quad pipes, have it for a real reason. thats cuz one of the dual pipes functions normally and the other opens up at a certain throttle position providing peak exhaust flow while still being quiet around town. But the sti having quad pipes is just vein and pointless, just like on all other cars with BS quadpipes. Yet another gay thing about the new car.

$1200 isn't baller anymore. My Blitz exhaust is $1400 or something. The ARC exhaust is $5000. The Amuse is around $3000. The Blitz quad Ti-C I posted above MSRP's at $1800.

JDM exhausts are quiet, so it's not for noise. What's ricer is people buying exhausts only for noise. JDM exhausts are full titanium and weigh 1/3 of the original weight. muffles sound cute, though.

My dad bought a Magnaflow CBE for his 08 sti off ebay and holy **** do I love it... better than my cobb TBE on my 06 WRX, and better than my 08 WRX with SPT CBE.

Its deep, rumbly, mean, maybe a tad louder than my 06 w/ Cobb TBE. Definitely louder than my 08 SPT.

I think he paid about $450.. It wasnt much more than my SPT on clearance. If I get the guts to carve up my diffuser, i want one myself.
