Getting a Zx10R widowmaker

Hello again TST figured i would share my excitement about a toy im picking up. a friend of mine has been thinking about moving to a cruiser for a while, and i asked him last night about buying his rocket. a 2005 Kawasaki ZX10R (Widowmaker) the bike has quite a bit of work done, and makes over 200whp if i remember correctly. i rode it once a while back... it made my old Katana 1100 feel slow. like really slow. yank the throttle in any gear, and your fighting to keep the front end on the ground. it was a really fun ride, and i wanted it ever since. anyways, last night i told him i would buy it when i returned from deployment, and he said it will be in the garage collecting dust until i get back.

I'm assuming they call it widowmaker for a reason?

thats awesome, my buddy used to drag race his. It was a 07 i believe, but all it had was a PCIII, air shifter and lowered 6" and it went 9.33 @ 140. stock engine and exhaust. those bikes are nose to nose with a busa with the right rider

Thanks for the Replies, as for it being too much bike for the street... your deff right it seriously is haha.

As for the name "Widow Maker" in 2004/2005, the bike earned the nickname by having the most brutal midrange, and just absolutely sick acceleration. there were problems with the welds on the swingarm not being able to talk the abuse, and yup you guessed it, alot of people died on them. i was reading comparisons, the 04-05 was sick nasty, then in 06 Kawasaki slowed it down, and got rid of the midrange and moved it all to top end power, to make it less of a unicycle. Even the 2010, compared to a beat up 05, they believed the 05 still held the title of widowmaker. being that its the lightest liter bike to date... theyre insane.

Example...
2004 Kawasaki Zx 6R "636" - dry weight: 389 lbs WHP: 111.4
2004 Kawasaki Zx 10R - dry weight: 375 lbs WHP: 174.3

Pretty much.... im pumped to get home. lol
